"I know your arrangement ends in two months, but who cares? Right now, you're the actual wife!"

Before Stella could even respond, Cassidy continued furiously, "She's just the other woman! What right does she have to parade around like she owns the place!"

Stella shot Cassidy an exhausted look. "And who do you think gave her the confidence to do that?"

"Even if I burned every bridge, I wouldn't win. I’d just end up becoming a laughingstock."

Cassidy deflated instantly.

If Chloe was acting this arrogant, it meant someone powerful was backing her up.

If a massive fight broke out, Chloe would just run crying to Jarrod. He would undoubtedly take her side in public, and Stella would be the one publicly humiliated.

"Ugh, I just feel terrible for you. You're the legal wife, yet you're getting bullied by the other woman." Cassidy sighed.

"Keep your voice down, and stop calling her the other woman." Stella forced a bitter smile. "In a relationship, the one who isn't loved is the real third wheel."

Cassidy paused. "When you put it like that, I guess I'm not that jealous of your life anymore."

Stella, "..."

The official company memo announcing Chloe's award circulated that afternoon.

Flooded with congratulations in the company group chats, Chloe was practically glowing, even sending out generous digital cash gifts for everyone to celebrate with her.

Stella didn't claim any of them. She found the whole thing nauseating.

To celebrate, the company hosted a dinner for all the key staff involved in the launch.

Stella didn't want to go, but everyone knew Chloe was gunning for her. If she backed out now, it would only fuel the office rumor mill.

It was just dinner. She would survive.

The dinner was held at The Grand Sovereign, a luxurious five-star hotel near the office.

Instead of separate tables, they booked a massive private dining hall that could seat over thirty people.

Though flattered, Chloe feigned modesty and quickly corrected them. "Don't say things like that. Mr. Fuller is strictly professional. He's here to show appreciation for all our hard work!"

"Yes, exactly! Mr. Fuller is such an incredible leader, taking time out of his busy schedule to check on us!"

The executive quickly pulled out a chair. "Mr. Fuller, please sit here!"

It was the seat directly next to Chloe.

Jarrod gave a subtle nod and took the seat beside her.

Right before sitting down, his dark eyes casually swept across the room—landing on Stella.

Stella had already lowered her gaze and was quietly drinking her water.

"Stella, was Mr. Fuller just looking at you?" Cassidy whispered urgently.

Stella didn't even look up. "You're overthinking it."
