A group of young men and women were strolling past their booth, and among them was Jarrod.

Perhaps he was just annoyed to see her, because his expression was utterly frigid, his dark eyes glinting with a dangerous edge.

Stella hadn't expected to run into him here. She was just debating whether to offer a polite greeting when Chloe Huxley suddenly sprinted over. "Jarrod..."

The moment the name left her lips, Chloe spotted Stella. Her expression instantly hardened into a mask of hostile vigilance.

At the exact same moment, one of the men beside Jarrod noticed her and eagerly rushed over.

"Well, if it isn't Mrs. Fuller! What a coincidence!"

Stella glanced up and recognized Julian Jenson, Jarrod's childhood friend from the private club they had visited previously.

Julian's eyes darted to the cocktails on the table, then to Summer. He flashed a wide grin. "Out for drinks with a friend, Mrs. Fuller?"

Summer offered a polite nod of acknowledgment.

Stella, noting Chloe's rapidly souring expression, corrected him. "Mr. Jenson, please just call me Stella. Jarrod and I—"

"Let's go!"

Before Stella could even finish her sentence, Jarrod cut her off with an irritated snap and strode away on his long legs.

Chloe seamlessly fell into step beside him, immediately looping her arm through his. "I'm drinking tonight too, Jarrod, and you are not allowed to stop me!"

Julian rubbed the back of his neck, looking incredibly awkward. "Stella, the thing with Jarrod and Chloe is..."

"It doesn't matter. Jarrod and I filed our divorce papers today, so you don't need to call me Mrs. Fuller anymore," Stella stated flatly.

Dropping the subject, the two spent the rest of the evening drinking and brainstorming ways to wrest SD Apparel from George's grip.

"Regardless of who founded it, his name is on the paperwork now. He knows how much it means to you, so he's not going to hand it over without a fight. He probably thinks you're just trying to declare war on your stepsister," Summer analyzed.

Stella knew she was right.

But the last time she visited Grandma Margaret, the old woman had rambled endlessly about her late husband and their clothing brand. Stella simply couldn't stomach the thought of letting it die.

Her only option was to wait until the divorce was finalized, take the millions she received from Jarrod, and try to buy it out from George directly.

Summer fully supported the plan.

"George shouldn't put up too much of a fight. It's not like the company is turning a massive profit for him anyway."
