He Waited She Wilted (Ottilie and Yorath) novel Chapter 355

Because he simply didn't understand love.

The next day.

When Ottilie came downstairs, she saw Yorath was still at home.

"Your father was arrested for running an illegal gambling ring. The police actually called me about it," Yorath remarked casually. "How do you want to handle this?"

From the moment that poker den opened in their house, Ottilie knew this day would come.

"Didn't you basically buy me off? My family's problems have nothing to do with me anymore."

With that, she walked straight into the dining room, asking Yvonne what was for breakfast.

Yorath folded his newspaper and followed her in.

"There's a dinner tonight for Kill My Lover. The director, writer, and the rest of the cast will be there to break the ice before script readings begin. If all goes well, production starts this autumn."

Hearing she finally had work, a genuine spark of joy lit up Ottilie's eyes.

"Thank you."

Yorath placed some food on her plate. "We're married, Tilly."

Ottilie was so focused on the prospect of working again that she barely registered his words.

"That old house out in the country," Yorath continued, "it belonged to your grandparents, right?"

Ottilie nodded.

"They've been gone for years. It's time the title was properly transferred."

"Are my parents asking for money again?" That was always her first assumption.

"No, they're both locked up now. Leaving that property sitting in limbo is just asking for trouble. It makes more sense to transfer it into your name so you have full control over it going forward."

"They'll never sign off on that."

Legally, she wasn't even the primary heir.

"Oh, they'll sign," Yorath smiled softly. "Leave the details to me."

At first, Ottilie didn't take him seriously.

But that evening, when Yorath picked her up, he casually handed her the finalized property deed.

She had to admit, she was deeply satisfied.

7:00 PM.
