He Waited She Wilted (Ottilie and Yorath) novel Chapter 358

"I can handle it," Ottilie stated evenly.

"Exactly," Jevon chimed in. "Never question the dedication of our talent. She's classically trained, top-tier in both looks and raw skill."

Nyssa shifted her gaze directly to Yorath. "Are you truly comfortable with Ms. Sewell filming explicit scenes, Yorath?"

"She is a professional actress," Yorath replied coldly. "Tonight's agenda is strictly a script reading. If you're not involved in the production, I suggest you leave."

Jevon stood up immediately, gesturing toward the door. "Let me walk you out, Nyssa."

Nyssa had always enjoyed a certain level of privilege with Jevon.

Even after she had broken her contract through deeply underhanded means, Jevon had never publicly humiliated her.

She figured she could still leverage that connection.

"Thank you, Jevon," she smiled, standing gracefully and smoothing her skirt.

She turned to Hayden. "Mr. Hadley still has business to discuss with Yorath, so I'll be taking my leave."

Hayden offered a curt nod, his attention entirely elsewhere.

His eyes were locked intensely on Ottilie sitting across from him.

Back when he was a massive celebrity, he had meticulously curated his image, keeping his desires tightly restrained.

But now that he had retired from the industry to inherit his family's empire, all pretenses were gone.

He didn't care about his public persona, he didn't care about what others thought, and he certainly didn't care about the fragile egos of the entertainment elite.

He stared at Ottilie openly, with unapologetic, predatory hunger.

As an actress, Ottilie was completely immune to being stared at.

She remained perfectly composed.

Yorath's possessiveness, however, flared instantly. A dominant male sensing a potent threat, his instincts demanded retaliation.

"I'd appreciate it if you kept your eyes off my wife, Mr. Hadley."

Hayden finally broke his gaze, offering a soft chuckle as he adjusted his cuffs, affecting a veneer of scholarly refinement.

He knew Ottilie preferred the elegant, polished type, and he was more than capable of playing the sophisticated villain.
