Confused, Melody stared at her retreating back.

She ran pretty fast, quickly catching up to a guy wearing earbuds.

The guy stopped and turned sideways to look at Winona. With slightly lowered eyelids, he took out an earbud with one hand. The white cord wrapped around his long, pale fingers. His sleeves were rolled up, revealing slender wrists.

His profile was sharp, with a high nose bridge and noticeably red lips. It was a face that managed to be both handsome and beautiful, yet his cold, detached demeanor gave off an unapproachable, distant vibe.

"What is it?"

Jupiter's voice was quite cold.

Thinking back to her previous attitude toward him, Winona felt incredibly guilty. She licked her dry lips and offered him the little cake she had been carrying all this way. "This is a thank-you gift."

Jupiter's gaze fell to the girl's hands.

Her nails were clean, without any polish or manicures.

Inside the clear box, the little strawberry cake looked incredibly appetizing. A light dusting of powdered sugar covered the top, with a strawberry sitting neatly above it, looking petite and cute.

"A thank-you for what?" Jupiter asked.

"Just... I wanted to thank you for letting me copy your homework yesterday."

"Oh," the teenager uttered a single cold syllable. "So that was you."

Winona's expression froze. "What do you mean?"

Jupiter was much taller than her, so she had to tilt her head up just to see his face clearly.

He was expressionless, merely lowering his eyes indifferently.

"I didn't know 'Sweetie' was you."

"If you had known it was me, would you still have let me copy your homework?" Winona asked, only realizing after she spoke that she was setting herself up for humiliation.

Wasn't that a stupid question?

She had always had a terrible attitude toward him and had never treated him well.

During their junior year, both Jupiter and Herbert had chosen the science track and ended up in the same class. Since then, Herbert had lost his grip on the top spot in the class rankings.

Before being in the same class as Jupiter, Herbert had been first in the class eight times out of ten, if not every single time.
