Earlier, Maura had acted all stuck-up, saying she could take down a housewife without even trying.

But she dumped so much cash on that hot search, got nothing out of it, and even trashed her own reputation.

“How was I supposed to know Sherry was such a flirt? I’m not an idiot. I knew for sure the Harrison family would never get involved-they do things their own way.

“Who would’ve guessed Mr. Harrison would go after me just for Sherry’s sake!”

Maura was fuming. After all, she’d known Lucas longer. He should’ve been nice to her, not Sherry.

Just thinking about it made her seethe with jealousy.

“Cut the crap. I don’t have time for your complaining. This time, I’ll find a way to get rid of Sherry for good!” A flash of cruelty crossed Wendy’s face.

Sherry had been at the company for a while, and things were finally settling down.

But Lucas was really busy. If he did not go to school, she had no idea when he would graduate…

Sherry was grumbling to herself when Lucas suddenly took her to his school.

It was the first time she’d seen him in casual clothes.

He had on a loose sweatshirt-nothing like his usual suit and tie. His hair was combed down, making him look like a cool campus tough guy.

“I don’t think I should go into the school with you. I don’t know how to ride a bike.”

Sherry felt embarrassed and flustered, not knowing what to do with her hands.

But in the next second, Lucas picked her up-she wasn’t small, but he held her easily, then set her steady on the back of his bike.

It was a big kid’s seat. Sherry finally relaxed,

Lucas looked at the flustered Sherry, and the corner of his mouth lifted a little. He put on his hat.

Sherry held her chest. He looked a little badass, in a good way.

His face was really handsome-he could pull off any look.

But she calmed down right away.

She was a woman who couldn’t even get a divorce, stuck with a bunch of troublesome family members. Her life was such a mess.

If she hadn’t married Gilbert because of that little crush back then, she wouldn’t be in this mess now.

She walked right beside Lucas the whole way. She noticed a lot of people staring at him secretly, but no one dared to come over.

He seemed popular, but not really-not in the way people would approach him.

“They look like they like you. Why do they stay so far away?” Sherry finally asked, confused.

Some of them were even his classmates. Last time at that club, a lot of people recognized him too, but no one dared to get close.

But she’d heard Melissa say that at parties in Seaseat City, tons of people crowded around Lucas, sucking up to him.

Melissa said it was exhausting.

Lucas glanced at the crowd. Just that one casual look made all the onlookers scatter in a rush.

“Yeah, maybe they know their place.”

Sherry nodded. People from King City are really polite.

But even the teachers were so respectful to him-even the dean…

If she didn’t know any better, she would’ve thought a leader was here for an inspection.

Sherry followed close behind Lucas, carrying a bunch of papers and books. She was used to doing this kind of thing.

But she still wasn’t used to the way everyone looked at her.

It was the same at the company. People looked so surprised when they saw her. She thought her identity had been exposed again.

But in the videos of her posted online, every part showing her face was blurred-or edited to make her look awful.

They’d never let Sherry appear in front of the public looking nice.

Why do they look so shocked? Like I’m someone important.

Just because I’m carrying some papers?

That can’t be it, right?

Sherry was totally confused. She didn’t get what their expressions meant.

Maybe people here were just more standoffish.

But as soon as Sherry left, everyone perked right up.

“Oh my god, did you see that? There was a woman with Lucas! Is that the same girl from the rumors the
