Her Revenge Was His Regret (Shirley and Gilbert) novel Chapter 218

Chapter 218 A Restaurant Showdown

Henry was shocked. He never thought Julia was so scheming. Clearly, when Julia had heard his status, her eyes had turned indifferent.

It was obvious he wasn’t even on Julia’s radar.

“I’m telling you, Julia…”

“Enough! It’s bad enough those women stir up trouble with Julia all the time. Where there are women, there’s drama. You’re a man-why are you bickering with a woman?”

Gilbert hung up the phone right away.

Sherry planned to go to that barbecue restaurant one last time.

Only by facing the past squarely could she truly move forward. This time, Sherry would never doubt herself again.

She ordered a whole table of food..

She sat there and ate boldly. Only then did she realize—no one was staring at her. Even if they did, their eyes didn’t hold pity.

They probably just wondered: Could she finish all that food alone?

“Boss, the usual table, please.” A sweet but not cloying voice sounded.

Sherry didn’t even bat an eyelid when she heard it. She just kept grilling meat.

“Sorry, Ms. Mack. The table you usually sit at is taken. I’ll ask her to move right away.”

The boss walked over to Sherry. “I’m so sorry. Could you switch tables? Don’t worry I’ll treat you to this meal.”

“No. I don’t need your treat.”

That woman walked toward her table. “Here’s ten thousand dollars. Take it and eat somewhere

else.”

“Ten thousand dollars? Are you trying to buy me off like a beggar?”

Sherry didn’t know how rich Julia really was. But Gilbert had spent far more on her than Sherry could have imagined.

He’d poured so much money into her, and now she wanted to kick her out with just ten thousand dollars?

Julia and the man beside her both froze.

George’s eyes turned cold. “It’s you? You should be grateful for ten thousand dollars.”

Clearly, in his mind, Sherry was still poor.

Even Gilbert’s old rivals knew she had no money.

The only reason Gilbert didn’t see it was because he was stupid and cruel-he didn’t care about anyone but himself.

Sherry hoped Melissa wouldn’t regret her choice. She really didn’t understand why Melissa had pinned her hopes on Gilbert.

“Ten million dollars, and I’ll move. Anything less, you can wait.” Sherry calmly put more meat on the grill.

The meat sizzled as it cooked. If they had to wait, it would take hours after all, Sherry was alone with a whole table of food. She could eat slowly on purpose.

George was filled with anger. If the restaurant wasn’t so crowded, he would have slapped Sherry. “Sherry!” He spat the name through gritted teeth.

He wanted to tear her apart.

“It’s okay,” Julia said softly. “We can wait here. After all, she was here first. I have three hours off today anyway. No matter what, Sherry will finish eating in three hours. It’s fine-I can wait.”

Then she sat there like a good girl, waiting. She looked so sweet and innocent—not at all like the scheming woman she was.

Julia was really smart. You knew her actions were those of a fake nice girl, but she acted so elegantly-she even fooled people who couldn’t see through her.

Some people even started feeling sorry for her. “Is that the new actress? Wow, she’s even prettier in person!”
