Chapter 240 Hidden Plots
Teresa’s expression flickered for a second-uncomfortable, but Edward was the only one who didn’t notice.
“Of course! We’re a big company, and we have tons of movie resources.”
Sherry glanced at Edward. He looked totally convinced, like he trusted Teresa with his life.
Once, Sherry had hated how Edward and the Campbells were so blind.
The truth was right in front of them. They could’ve checked the cameras and found out everything. But they chose to believe Teresa-no matter what she said.
If she said it was true, even lies became facts.
They believed her so deeply.
Good. Let them keep believing.
Sherry was sure this mess would blow up someday.
Sherry and Lucas left.
Edward’s mind raced, but he didn’t forget his main goal-signing the contract!
He was about to chase them when Teresa pulled him back.
“Edward, don’t beg them. Sherry clearly hates us. After all these years of how we treated her, Sherry’s bitter.
“She came here just to mess with us. Can’t you tell? They never wanted to work with us.”
Edward still wanted to argue. The Harrisons held all the resources. To grow, partnering with them was their best bet.
“The Harrisons held all the resources. That’s exactly why we can’t work with them. We can’t let them control everything-they’ll hold us back later.”
Teresa said, “I heard Gilbert and Julia are building other resources. They already reached out. to me.”
She hated Julia, that bitch.
1/3
But she hated Sherry more-Sherry was in her way, stealing her chances.
First, she’d take down Sherry. Then Julia. In the end, she’d be the only winner.
“Do you know Julia?” Edward had met her before.
They’d talked a little. She seemed polite and beautiful.
But sadly, she’d left after a few words, saying she was busy.
She looked smart-her status was obvious, elegant and refined. “When will you and Sherry be as capable as Julia? Then I’ll finally rest easy.”
Teresa forced a smile and rolled her eyes silently. Compare me to Sherry? That woman is nothing to
me!
Edward is such an idiot!
She’d wasted years currying favor with these fools. But it was okay. Once she climbed higher, she’d dump the Campbells for good.
Ten years had passed, and the Campbells were still stuck in the middle tier. The whole family. was as useless as Sherry!
She said a few more words to brush Edward off.
“You saw that, didn’t you? That’s why you dragged me away,” Lucas said.
She’d been gone so long-she must have seen something.
Lucas was way too smart. But that was good. At least he hadn’t been tricked by those two. Sherry hated stupid men-men who believed every lie from a fake nice girl.
“How did
you find out?” Sherry had gotten lost before stumbling into that room.
Even people from the company might not find that remote spot. She’d never expected such dirty stuff to be hidden there.
“It seemed fishy, so I looked into it.” Lucas stared at the building. “Julia secretly invested in this company. It’s not like her.”
