Wendy, her large, watery eyes wide, covered her mouth, her gaze filled with mockery.
“Don’t be sad. At least you got a glimpse of this yourself. After all, if I hadn’t spoken to security, you wouldn’t even have seen the gate. What can I say? I’m born noble. I deserve a luxurious villa like this. You’re lowly and poor, so you don’t deserve to live here! Who do you think you are, Mrs. Bode? You’re just a joke! Haha!”
She knew Sherry would come. She was deliberately provoking her.
She didn’t really enjoy living in their little dark home. It was nothing compared to this!
Sherry must be so jealous. This is what happens when you go against her! Wendy thought smugly.
Sherry suddenly pulled out a burlap sack, looking at Wendy expressionlessly.
Before Wendy could understand what was happening, everything went black, and then a stick came crashing down on her.
Sherry slung the burlap sack over her and slammed the stick down on Wendy.
Wendy, her earlier arrogance gone, yelled like a monkey, “You bitch, are you crazy? How dare you lay a hand on me! I’ll tell Gilbert. He’ll kill you! If you leave a scar on me, he’ll never forgive you! Your injury is nothing, but mine is unacceptable. Your broken head is the best proof. Let me go now, and I might spare your life!”
Wendy didn’t believe Sherry would go against Gilbert.
Sherry had already learned the consequences of provoking her.
She wanted Sherry to obediently release her, beg for her forgiveness and confess. Then she would break Sherry’s leg before she was done with it!
But her threats only resulted in a more severe beating!
Wendy seemed to feel Sherry hitting her hard with a stick. She screamed in pain!
But she remained defiant, continuing to call Sherry a bitch!
Who was the real bitch?
Sherry beat her even harder.
The housekeeper, sensing something was wrong, rushed out and was stunned by what he saw.
“Mrs. Bode, stop! Stop! If this continues, you’ll have trouble.”
Sherry was startled by the voice. “What are you doing here?”
This was Gabriel, the Bode family’s housekeeper.

They had lived in the dilapidated house for a while. Sherry could cook, but only simple home-style dishes, mostly her own favorites, not Gilbert’s.
She learned most of her cooking skills from Gabriel, and even how to care for Gilbert. He taught her etiquette and what a rich lady should do.
Later, Gabriel went out to attend to other matters. After all, the Bode Group was short-staffed at the time, and she gradually took over the household chores until they moved out of the rented apartment.
Although Sherry had taken care of all of Gilbert’s needs, moving to a larger house was still quite tiring.
She thought of taking Gabriel with them. Especially since they would need a housekeeper if they stayed at Splendor Villa.
But then Gilbert informed her that Gabriel wasn’t going. He said it was their home, and he didn’t want anyone else disturbing their lives, not even Gabriel.
Gilbert had only ever been incredibly affectionate and clingy with her a handful of times. So Sherry had been shy and happy at the time.
Now it seemed she’d been such a fool!
Gabriel hadn’t gone with her. He was sent to Splendor Villa to serve another woman.
