Chapter 34

Wendy burst into tears the moment she saw Gilbert. “Gilbert, that bitch somehow found out I was living here! She tricked me out here and beat me up! She said I didn’t deserve to live here, that she’s Mrs. Bode and she should live here! Gilbert, I’ve thought it through. Maybe I should go back abroad. I don’t want to die yet!”
Upon hearing “abroad,” Gilbert’s face darkened instantly. He stared at Sherry with the look he usually gave to his enemies.
“Sherry, I thought you’d matured. I never expected you to seek revenge on Wendy. When did you become so jealous? Do you want to kill her? Apologize to her!”
Sherry sneered, pointing at Splendor Villa. “Half of this place belongs to me. Why couldn’t I hit her? Why are you using our shared property to support another woman? What do you take me for?”
Gilbert showed no shame. His gaze fixed intently on Sherry. “I’m telling you, it’s perfectly reasonable for Wendy to live here. And you must respect that. She has the right to live here. If you don’t apologize to her, don’t blame me for using legal means against you. Apologize to her!”
Gabriel was terrified and immediately tried to stop him. “Mr. Bode, you can’t joke about this. How can Mrs. Bode go to jail? Most people can’t bear that kind of humiliation.”
Even ordinary people would be bullied if they went in, let alone people of their status.
“Apologize!” Gilbert showed no sign of backing down.
His eyes were even bloodshot and threatening, as if she held a deep grudge against him.
She was like Gilbert’s enemy.
Even Gabriel was intimidated by Gilbert’s gaze,
In their circle, what was wrong with beating up a homewrecker? Even if they made her disappear, no one would say a word.
What was Gilbert doing? Even Gabriel couldn’t stand Gilbert’s gaze, let alone Sherry. She would be utterly disappointed in him.
How could Gilbert look at his wife like that?
It was too hurtful.
Sherry suddenly sneered. “I won’t apologize! She doesn’t deserve my apology. And you too! Why should someone who’s done nothing right expect an apology? Gilbert, are you even a man?”
Sherry’s expression and tone were no joke. She was genuinely angry with Gilbert!
Gabriel was terrified. He was about to try to persuade her when Sherry continued, “Fine, then send me to jail. Anyway, I’m already unemployed because of your oppression. Going to jail won’t affect me at all! You’ve always treated me this way. What good can someone as heartless and unjust as you do? Gilbert,

from now on, you mean nothing to me!”
Sherry’s words shocked everyone.

Gilbert couldn’t believe Sherry would say that to him.
Because of her jealousy of Wendy, Sherry had become one of those repulsive, jealous women. “Sherry, I never expected you to be so unable to distinguish right from wrong. I won’t protect you anymore.”
He thought he was doing this for Sherry’s own good. So he immediately called the police.
When the police arrived, Gilbert said Sherry had taken cruel revenge on Wendy out of jealousy. He demanded that the police arrest Sherry for assault.
Gilbert looked at Sherry, his eyes telling her that if she didn’t apologize, he could put her in jail.
He wasn’t joking.
Sherry didn’t know if he was putting on an act or playing dumb.
She didn’t think falling into Wendy’s hands would end well. It might even be more humiliating than going to jail.
“I admit to everything he says. Even if he says I killed someone, I’ll admit it.”
Sherry confessed without hesitation, even saying such things.
For a moment, Gilbert even thought that Sherry would rather believe prison wouldn’t hurt her than believe he just wanted her to apologize. Was apologizing really that hard?
Gilbert stood there, watching Sherry being handcuffed and disappear through the gate.
Wendy was stunned. Had Gilbert really sent Sherry to jail? She hadn’t expected things to escalate like this.
