“How did you get in? Why are you here? Is this a place for you?” Gilbert’s voice was filled with anger.
His three questions were ridiculous. A place anyone could come to, but she didn’t have the right.
“Why can’t I come? Why don’t I have the right to come? Don’t forget, we didn’t sign a prenup when we got married, and you weren’t this rich back then. Every penny you spend now is shared by us. This Splendor Villa is half mine. Why can’t I come?”
“Is money all you care about? Haven’t I given you money?” Gilbert said anxiously to Scott, “Take Sherry home. Today’s event is important! We can talk about anything else later. But you can’t ruin this! Otherwise, you’ll pay the price!”
Gilbert’s eyes were filled with the threat he had for his enemy. The person he had threatened last time had disappeared in Seaseat City.
His eyes then were the same as now, bloodshot, as if he were looking at an enemy.
Now he looked at her with those eyes.
Sherry’s slender hands clenched into fists. In his heart, she wasn’t his wife but his enemy or even a spy.
Ruin it?
She didn’t even know the purpose of this party. She was just standing there to broaden her horizons, and in his eyes, that was sabotage?
The grievances in her heart turned into immense humiliation. Gilbert wasn’t just questioning her identity. He was questioning her character.
Sherry wasn’t going to back down. Even though her eyes were already red, she refused to lower her head. “The price? What price? I’ve already been to jail. What? Do you want to kill me?”
Gilbert’s eyes were already red with anger. “I used to hope you had some temper. But too much of that temper gets tiresome. Are you blind? Don’t you know today’s event looks very important? I used to ask you to attend banquets, but you didn’t. Today, you came here on your own initiative. Do you really think I don’t know what you’re up to?”
Gilbert looked at the stunned Scott. “What are you standing there for? Take her away!”
Gilbert, ignoring the stares, dragged her outside. Scott was sweating profusely. “Mrs. Bode, today’s matter is extremely important, and it’s not something to be taken lightly. Mr. Bode usually indulges you and ignores your unreasonable behavior. But today is different.”
Sherry looked quite disheveled as she was dragged away. Her high heels and dress meant she couldn’t walk very fast. She almost tripped and fell.
Just then, the lights suddenly went out.

Two beams of light shone down. One shone on her, and the other directly on the person on the stage.
“Sorry.”
Wendy, on stage, was supposed to be the star of the show. But she was wearing a dress that looked fine at first glance, but everyone present could tell it was secondhand.
Wendy bit her lip. Her face turned deathly pale with fright. Her eyes darted past the crowd to Sherry.
A voice in the crowd, as if suddenly struck by a realization, exclaimed in shock, “Wendy’s wearing a dress that designer L failed!”
Sherry, on the other hand, was wearing the final, successful version.
In other words, Wendy was wearing a discarded, abandoned dress.
On such an important occasion, two spotlights shone on them separately. Wendy was utterly humiliated in that instant.
Standing on stage, she was like a bullied rabbit, completely helpless.
