Those outside this world are easily ostracized. At least Sherry was still a Campbell.
From now on, no one would dare to laugh at Wendy. And Sherry would become a joke.
“I don’t think so. Since today is so important to Wendy, why is Mrs. Bode wearing a dress designed by L? But look at Wendy, did you see the seam ripped on her left waist? I can see her love handles. It’s hilarious.”
“Not just that. Her shoes are ripped too. I think this Splendor Villa might have been made for Mrs. Bode. And Wendy is just a puppet.”
There were all sorts of comments from the audience. They were both gossiped about.
“Anyway, Gilbert has to choose one today. The one who isn’t chosen will be a joke forever.”
One stood on the stage, the other in the audience.
Gilbert’s choice determined their future.
Wendy looked at Sherry’s dress with teary eyes, then smiled knowingly.
Her smile was tinged with weariness and sorrow, as if it held untold bitterness and many unspoken words. Sherry’s dress immediately sparked everyone’s thoughts.
For example, how did Sherry get that dress?
Wendy’s eyes seemed to hold something more.
Everyone’s minds were already conjuring up countless scenarios.
Although Wendy’s dress was a discarded draft, both dresses belonged to the same designer.
Which one would Gilbert choose?
“Scott,”
Gilbert’s voice was almost devoid of emotion, even more chilling than usual. “Didn’t I tell you to take her out?”
He hadn’t even asked Sherry to change out of her dress.
Unexpectedly, even under these circumstances, Gilbert insisted on getting kick Sherry out in front of
everyone.
Scott thought it was better if they had sneaked away earlier. Now, in this situation, dragging her away seemed inappropriate. “Mr. Bode, Mrs. Bode…”
“Hurry! Otherwise, have the bodyguards drag her out.”
If that happened, what difference would it make from dragging out a thief?

Being dragged out would be incredibly humiliating. She’d rather walk herself.
For a moment, Sherry felt her sprained ankle didn’t hurt so much anymore.
With her back to Gilbert, Sherry gave a self-deprecating smile. She straightened her back, not even turning her head, and walked step by step towards the door as if walking on a knife’s edge.
That back view was strong, lonely, and resolute, as if she would never look back.
Gilbert wanted to say something but.couldn’t utter a word. A terrifying thought suddenly occurred to him as he looked at Sherry’s back.
It seemed that Sherry really would leave him, as resolutely as she was now, never to look back at him again.
Gilbert shook his head, trying to shake off the thought. It shouldn’t come to that.
This was an event. There couldn’t be any surprises. Sherry would understand.
He could explain the whole story to her later, and there wouldn’t be any problems.
But the others didn’t think so.
“Good heavens, I thought these two women would compete. I didn’t expect Mrs. Bode to lose so easily. What a joke.”
“Not just a joke. It seems Gilbert never intended to invite her, and she showed up uninvited. So she was kicked out. No, even I find it embarrassing.”
“I didn’t expect Mrs. Bode to be so lowly and humble. It seems Gilbert doesn’t like her at all.”
They even thought Gilbert’s handling of the situation showed he really disliked Sherry.
Looking at Sherry’s retreating figure, everyone saw Gilbert draping his suit jacket over Wendy’s shoulders
on stage.
Gilbert’s support for Wendy was also a declaration of his choice to the world.
