“I really didn’t mean to. Sherry was just unlucky. Maybe she wanted to fall harder, so she deliberately took

a step back, but she didn’t expect to actually hit the table. Anyway, it has nothing to do with me.”

Gilbert dashed out like the wind.

Seeing Tyrone still holding Sherry, Gilbert’s eyes suddenly turned bloodshot.

“She’s my wife. Let me carry her…”

He tried to grab her.

“What are you doing? Put her on the bed!”

Gilbert stopped, watching Tyrone carefully place Sherry on the bed.

She was immediately taken for a checkup.

As they went inside, Gilbert’s fist came at Tyrone.

Tyrone didn’t appear weak as usual. Instead, he calmly caught his fist.

“Gilbert, she’s in the emergency room. Are you trying to cause trouble? Or are you afraid Sherry isn’t dying fast enough?”

Gilbert’s fists clenched so tightly they cracked, but he didn’t push it. “That’s between her and me. It has nothing to do with you. Stay away from my wife.”

Tyrone almost laughed out loud. “The wife lying on the floor? Didn’t you say she was faking it?”

These words enraged Gilbert. Just as he was about to explode, the doctor came out. “Are you Mrs. Bode’s family? She’s alright. However, she has a mild concussion. Plus, she’s in very poor health, so she’ll need to rest in the hospital for some time.”

Gilbert seemed dissatisfied with the diagnosis.

Because the accident site was quite far from his hospital, they came to this one.

“My wife has always been cared for by my hospital. How could she be in poor health?” Every checkup

showed she was in excellent health.

“I don’t know which hospital you went to. The data is here. Her health is very poor.”

“Impossible. She eats a lot of highly nutritious meds every year.” To prove it, he pulled out the reports on his phone.

Her annual medical reports were sent to his phone. Sometimes there were indeed minor issues. But without him having to ask, they would send him the medication Sherry needed along with the reports.

Later, they would notify him to pick up the medication directly.

The doctor glanced at the report and then at Gilbert. “Is this a joke? She’s already very weak, and they’ve prescribed her medication that will make her even weaker.”

Gilbert frowned. “What do you mean? You mean someone at my hospital is prescribing fake medication? Impossible!”

Tyrone smiled sarcastically. “It was impossible before. But you should know who owns that hospital now.”

To make it easier for Wendy to see a doctor, Gilbert had handed over the hospital’s management to her.

Gilbert was very displeased by Tyrone’s tone. “You mean Wendy had the doctors do this? Impossible. She has no reason to do that. She just made one mistake. Don’t blame everything on her.”

“What else could it be? You don’t think your doctors have a grudge against Sherry, do you? Or are all the doctors at your hospital incompetent?”

“Impossible!” Gilbert denied. But the medication was indeed prescribed incorrectly.

Either his hospital had a problem, or it was Wendy. Only those two possibilities.

“I’ll

go check.” Gilbert couldn’t tolerate this happening at his company. And Sherry wouldn’t wake up anytime soon.

He sent some professionals to take care of Sherry. “Cathy, you stay and take care of Sherry. Apologize to her and make amends. Make sure she forgives you. Otherwise, don’t even think about going home.”

He glanced at Tyrone as he left. Even with Cathy there, he still felt uneasy.

He only left after seeing Tyrone answer a phone call and leave.

When Sherry woke up, she felt excruciating pain. Her body felt incredibly heavy, and her head was spinning.

Cathy impatiently slammed a glass of cold water onto the table.
