Chapter 375 The Grand Wedding
If she could land a promotion and a raise, she could pay off that debt even sooner.
That thought revived her positive, motivated spirit–suddenly, no obstacle felt too big to
overcome.
Then, Iris‘ wedding invitation arrived. The ceremony was set for October, on a bright fall weekend, and Zoe was honored to be asked as a bridesmaid.

Starting about a week before the big day, things got busy. Zoe went with Iris to try on wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses, attended the rehearsal, helped finalize the timeline, and assembled welcome bags for the guests.
As a bridesmaid, Zoe found herself more nervous and attentive than the bride, running around taking care of details—yet Iris still made time every single day to stop by her lab.
Even with a wedding around the corner, she kept pushing forward with her work.
No wonder she was so successful.
What amazed Zoe most, though, was the breathtaking scale of the wedding Julian had planned
for Iris.
Her gown was a custom haute couture piece, hand–embroidered and beaded by a legendary atelier–valued well over fifty million dollars.
The tiara she wore was studded with rare diamonds and gems, easily worth hundred million
more.
Add to that the heirloom jewelry she carried, and the whole ensemble reached an eye–watering
sum.
On the wedding day, with her tiara glinting and the exquisite gown flowing behind her, Iris‘ procession turned heads across the city. News of the lavish celebration even made headlines
overseas.
Julian was making a statement to the world: from this day forward, Iris was his wife.
The ceremony itself was elegant and meaningful–no silly games, no crude pranks, just heartfelt tradition and reverence.
That morning, Iris wasn’t so much nervous as just tired. Getting ready was exhausting.
When the procession arrived at Whitmore Manor, it was her father, Cayden, who walked her out–her hand tucked in his arm, every step graceful under the weight of silk and jewels.

The wedding motorcade was grand and impressive, luxury cars lining the street as far as the eye could see.
Julian, waiting by the entrance, felt his eyes grow moist the moment he saw Iris. His hands trembled slightly with emotion.
He stepped forward, greeting Cayden respectfully. “Cayden.”
Then he reached for Iris‘ hand, and Cayden gently placed it in his.
Cayden’s own eyes were red–rimmed. “Take good care of my girl.”
“I will,” Julian promised, his voice sincere.
Iris could feel Julian’s palms sweating.
Beneath that calm exterior, he was trembling with nerves and joy.
Nearby, maid of honor Zoe and best man Daniel watched quietly, giving them their moment.
Julian swept Iris gently into his arms, nodded his thanks to Cayden, and turned toward the waiting car.
Daniel held the door open as Julian carefully settled Iris inside before sliding in beside her.
Once the bride and groom were seated, Zoe and Daniel joined them in the spacious luxury sedan. The rest of the Whitmore family filled the other vehicles in the procession.
The interior was roomy enough to seat twelve comfortably, so with just the four of them plus the driver, it felt almost too empty.
A small console between the seats held chilled water and delicate pastries.
Julian and Iris sat close, their fingers laced together the whole time.
Across from them, Zoe and Daniel kept a respectful distance.
At one point, Julian couldn’t resist reaching to lift Iris‘ delicate tulle veil for a peek.
Zoe playfully intervened. “Not so fast, Mr. Everhart. You can lift the veil after the ceremony- patience!”
Julian lowered his hand, a smile touching his lips. “You’re right.”

He leaned close to the veil and whispered, “Are you thirsty, Iris? Would you like some water?”
She nodded, and Julian quickly unscrewed a bottle, slipped in a straw, and held it for her.
Not long after, he asked again, “Hungry? There are some petits fours here.”
Another nod, and he carefully passed her a small pastry.
Even after that, Julian still seemed restless. He gently massaged her hand and murmured, “Your brother mentioned you were in the lab late last night. Tired? Want me to rub your shoulders?”
Iris shook her head softly.
Zoe let out an affectionate sigh. “Mr. Everhart, she’s not made of glass. You don’t have to worry so much–look how well she’s doing!”
Behind the veil, Iris smiled shyly.
Julian took a deep breath, brought Iris‘ hand to his lips, and brushed a kiss over her knuckles. “I know. I’m just… incredibly nervous.”
