Looking into his deep, gorgeous eyes, Yvette grew even shyer. There was nowhere for her to hide. She could only hold his gaze timidly, trying her hardest to stay calm.
Brandon smiled down at her fondly, like he could see right through her flustered blush.
“The more we do this, the less shy you’ll be.”
He had completely read her mind. Yvette wanted to bury herself on the spot. She forced an awkward, bashful smile and nodded.
“Okay.”
The second the word left her mouth, she realized how bold it sounded. Her face burned bright red.
Brandon leaned in and kissed her softly on the lips. He lowered his head to her ear and whispered in a husky tone, “Don’t go to work today. Stay home with me.”
“Okay.”
“After lunch, we’ll head back to the bedroom and sleep.”
“But it’s still daytime.”
“We can still do it during the day.” Brandon chuckled quietly.
“Mm.” Yvette nodded obediently.
Brandon gently stroked the back of her head and murmured, “My Yvette is such a good girl.”
His sweet praise made her heart bloom with joy. She knew being too obedient might make her look passive, yet she had no desire to be strong–willed around him.
As long as Brandon spoiled her and liked her gentle side, she was happy to stay that way.
Every woman wanted to be doted on by the man she loved.
For her, this simple happiness was enough.
Ever since they had gotten married, Brandon had always craved physical affection whenever

sweet warmth made her feel incredibly blessed, yet it still felt unreal at times.
In front of family and outsiders, he always kept his polished demeanor.
Even so, every single word and tiny detail showed how much he cared for and protected her.
Whenever she designed outfits for their family members, he would boast proudly.
“My Yvette is so talented. Your designs are a hundred times prettier than any luxury brand’s.”
Whenever she baked desserts for everyone, he would never hold back his compliments.
“You’re so skilled. Even five–star hotels can’t make pastries this good.”
“Are you just flattering me?” Yvette asked softly.
“I mean every single word.” He praised her without hesitation.
No matter the weather, Brandon always picked her up from work. If he was too busy with overtime, he’d send the family driver instead.
Sometimes when the driver was unavailable, he even asked his own father to drive her home.
Everyone in the Whitmore family could feel how deeply he loved her, and they all spoiled her like a little princess.
He constantly showered her with expensive gifts. Her jewelry cabinet was filled with priceless
treasures.
On random days, he’d bring her fresh bouquets and delicious food just because he thought of her.
On holidays, he took her camping in quiet, beautiful scenic spots.
He put sunscreen and insect repellent on her himself. Even a tiny mosquito bite would make him anxious, carefully dabbing ointment on her skin with obvious concern.
Seeing how devoted he was, Yvette truly believed Brandon loved her.
She thought her marriage was perfect, and this happiness would last forever.
Or at least, that was what she believed.
Until one night…

crying in Julian’s arms.
“Why… why is life so unfair?” She sobbed. “Zoe is still so young. Her happy life has barely started. Why does she have to get sick?”
Brandon’s expression dropped instantly.
“What happened to Zoe?”
“There’s something abnormal growing in her ovary.” Iris struggled to speak through her tears.
A heavy sadness settled over the entire family.
Yvette felt miserable too.
She was sad for Zoe’s illness.
More importantly, she had never seen Brandon look so broken and devastated.
Yvette stayed awake the entire night.
Brandon hadn’t slept a wink either. He called the hospital where Zoe was staying and contacted his doctor friend in charge of her case.
He got hold of Zoe’s medical reports and spent the whole night researching documents, desperately searching for the best treatment plan.
All he wanted was to save her ovary and make sure she survived.
Yvette wished for the same thing, yet she couldn’t ignore the sharp ache in her chest from watching his desperate devotion.
