Chapter 246 The Abduction
“My father-in-law is already prepped. Be extremely careful. There can be no mistakes this time.”
“And if the woman doesn’t survive the procedure?”
“I told you. Surgical complications happen. It’s tragic, but it happens.”
Helena gave a few more terse instructions before hanging up.
It was late and quiet-the kind of night made for things to happen without a trace.
The Aurora Hotel ballroom hummed with activity, workers preparing through the night.
Xander, Nathan, and Jett were also there, finalizing details.
Jett stared at the empty space reserved for a large portrait. “They don’t even have wedding photos. Maybe we’re all wasting our time.”.
Elian arrived just then, catching the tail end of the remark as he reached the entrance. His brow furrowed.
“Don’t talk nonsense. You know Elian hates that,” Nathan warned Jett.
“If he really cared about her, why was Anya there in a wedding gown on the fitting day?” Jett persisted.
They always said two queens can’t share the same crown. And there was plenty of truth to that.
Xander, listening to a coordinator, overheard and shot Jett a troubled look.
Nathan was more direct. “Wasn’t that Anya inserting herself?”
“So if the bride tomorrow turns out to be Anya, he’ll still go through with the vows. You buying that?” Jett pressed.
Nathan was at a loss. He’s obsessed.
“We should have red roses. Anya loves red roses,” Jett said, eyeing the sea of pristine white blooms.
“Elian specified the colors. No one changes them,” Xander stated firmly, his patience gone.
Elian had been deeply involved in every aesthetic detail choosing everything with Liana’s preferences in mind. That was why they were all here.
Elian, who had been about to enter, turned on his heel and walked out, phone in hand.
At Roy’s house, Elian’s team worked efficiently. Lawrence was playing chess with Roy in the study.
Liana’s phone buzzed. It was Evan.
“Mrs. Locke, I found the apartment as Mr. Locke requested. Can we add each other on WhatsApp so I can send you the address?”
“Sure.”
She hadn’t expected it this fast, but she added Evan without hesitation.
When she saw the address and pictures Evan sent, a fragile warmth spread through her.
