Chapter 247 The Decoy and the Trap
Nathan’s head buzzed, and only then did he snap out of it.
Jett, however, was thinking. Hope Liana backs out tomorrow. If she does, Anya will show up.
With so many guests, the show must go on. Anya, the Mayor’s daughter, would be the perfect, destined substitute. The thought of Anya becoming Elian’s wife pained him, but a man’s happiness lies in the joy of the one he loves.
Later, as they dispersed, Jett called Anya.
She was at the Forrest Villa, fully dressed, her wedding gown laid out nearby.
“What are the odds that woman doesn’t make it to the wedding tomorrow?” Jett asked.
“One hundred percent. She’s already gone,” Anya replied.
“Gone? You hid her?” Jett was confused.
While he often wished Liana gone when she upset Anya, the thought of Anya crossing a legal line terrified him. A murder charge was no joke.
“The less you know, the better. Just remember the red roses for me at the reception,” Anya reminded him.
“Princess, I’m worried about you. If you kill someone, the whole Forrest family is finished. You’ll go to prison.” Jétt couldn’t help his repeated warnings.
He’d said it a bunch of times, but he kept at it, and when it came to Anya, he thought well beyond his years.
“Relax. I’m not that stupid. Don’t forget to bring the wedding poster of Elian and me.”
Anya hung up, taking a deep breath as she looked at the wedding attire beside her.
She reached out, her fingers gently tracing the fabric. Next to it was a wedding photo of her and Elian.
The setting from their impromptu shoot wasn’t traditional, but it had a certain charm.
She’d even enlarged one. Elian and Liana hadn’t taken wedding photos, but she got ahead of them.
It’s all fate.
Liana was already far from the city. Even if the Lockes searched, it would be like finding a needle in a haystack. She’d left a forged farewell letter on Liana’s bed. With Elian’s temper, after reading it, he’d never look for her. Then she, Anya, would appear before him in her gown, recounting their childhood bond and the love that grew from it, seamlessly becoming his wife
No one could resist being moved by such devotion. Even a heart of stone like Elian’s would soften.
