His Last Command Came Back to Kill Him novel Chapter 116

"I suggest you keep your mouth shut and your hands to yourself," Xander sneered. "This room is full of experts. It's not like the outside world where you can just fake your way through. One wrong word and you'll expose how stupid you are. Don't embarrass us."

Whitley gave a cold, faint smile. "If a molecular model shatters from a single touch, then years of pharmacological research belong in the garbage."

Xander and Yelena’s faces darkened, caught off guard by her sharp tongue.

"Since when do you know anything about this?"

Clive had appeared out of nowhere.

Seeing him, Yelena immediately lit up and moved to his side. Their outfits were perfectly coordinated, looking every bit the power couple.

Whitley had once wanted to wear something matching with him. He had told her it was inappropriate for his status.

Now, not only had he bought Yelena the dress Whitley had always wanted, but he had gone out of his way to match with her. How thoughtful.

Whitley found it almost comical. He was asking since when she knew about this?

If he had ever bothered to listen to a single word she said, he would have known she had been involved in the design and verification of these models from day one. But he only ever looked at her with apathy, refusing to offer her even a shred of patience.

She didn't spare him a second glance. Done wasting her breath on these people, she turned on her heel and walked away.

"What an attitude. She has no respect," Xander sneered at her retreating back. "Zero talent, but an ego the size of a mountain."

After searching the backstage area, she finally found him quietly sipping tea in a secluded lounge.

Yelena immediately put on her brightest smile. "Professor Prescott! We met at the academic exchange recently."

The professor glanced up, gave a polite nod, and said nothing. He was mildly impressed she had managed to find this isolated room, but his demeanor was icy.

Yelena maintained her sweet smile. "I just finished my dual doctorates abroad and I'm looking to dive deep into domestic drug development. I have so much respect for you. You single-handedly elevated our country's precision medicine to a new level."

"You flatter me," the professor waved a hand dismissively.
