The more we spoke about that so-called Alpha and the whole situation the angrier I became; we don’t know what’s happening yet but I’ve already got a sick feeling in my stomach and it’s making my anger rage. I’ve run for hours and finally, I am feeling calmer, I head back to the tree line and grab a pair of shots out of the tree trunk, I ripped my clothes earlier when I shifted as I was just too angry to strip off first.

I head into the packhouse and even though I feel calmer than earlier I’m still not completely settled. It’s 7.30 pm and I’ve missed dinner but that’s fine I’ll grab a snack later, first I want to try and find my little wolf, she’s the only person that can help calm the rest of my anger, even if she doesn’t know it yet.

“Brooke, do you know where Beth is?” I link her quickly as I don’t want to waste time searching for my little mate, I just want to see her.

“she’s in the games room.” I thank her before quickly closing the link and heading for the games room. It only takes me seconds but the minute I open the door I instantly regret going there. My little mate is in there playing a game of pool with a couple of the other teenagers, but that’s not the problem, the problem is who’s teaching her to play…f*****g Jake Summers, and of course, he’s using this as an excuse to get up close and personal with my girl.

“Hey, Liam you, ok?” I’m pulled back into the room by the angel voice of Bethany but it’s not enough to calm me down, I don’t even answer her I just turn and run from the room and up to my floor and into my office.

“I’m sorry Cal, I can normally handle my anger better but I just lost it!” I feel like a right prick!

“You’ve got nothing to be sorry for brother, I can’t begin to understand what you’re going through but I do know you have been handling this situation incredibly and there’s bound to be moments like this along the way.” This man is amazing most Alphas would kick my a*s for what I’ve just done but not this guy.

“I need to find Beth; I think I scared her.” That thought alone makes me feel like an a*****e.

“Brookes just linked me she’s fine, she’s with Brooke upstairs, you didn’t scare her don’t worry, she just didn’t like seeing you like that which is understandable!” Cal’s reassuring voice helps calm me but I will need to see her before bed to see for myself.

We talk for a few more minutes before the door goes and in walks Calvin’s parents and straight away, we dive into talking everything through, it turns out I’m not alone, Cal’s dad had more than one meltdown in his time and I know it shouldn’t make me feel any better but it does, to know I’m not being a complete d**k but just handling this the best I can.

2 hours later and I’m finally completely calm, we’ve done a lot of talking and hugging, Ashley and Jack came in the lounge about an hour ago to let me know my office was clean and I was handed a list of replacements I’d need, f**k I’m a d**k!

Cal takes the list of me and tells me not to worry and once I know I’m good I thank everyone and head up to the Alpha’s floor to find my little mate. I soon find her in Bella’s nursery playing on the floor with her, I feel so nervous that she’s going to hate me that I start doubting my decision to come here, that is until she looks up to me and graces me with her beautiful smile and my whole body instantly relaxes.

“Hey Liam, are you ok now?” She asks me with her gentle voice.

“I’m good, I’m so sorry you saw that my little wolf, I didn’t mean to scare you.”

“You didn’t don’t worry, I just didn’t like seeing you angry but Brooke explained that you’d had a hard day and I get it!” I make a mental note to thank Brooke for covering my a*s as I watch Beth with Bella.

“Look who’s here petal, where’s Liam?” She cooes out as Bella stretches her arms out to me, I quickly scoop her up and spend the next hour here with these girls, finally calm, finally settled, and most of all loving every moment.
