Beta Liam

“If she’s been taken again some fuckers getting skinned alive!” I’m seething and so is Jonah!

My mom offers to take care of Bella while my dad insists on coming to search for Beth with us, Jack, Brooke, and Calvin’s parents are already out looking.

We quickly move down to the main floor and out the front door where we find Brooke in a mess and I get it, it wasn’t that long ago that Beth was kidnapped and it’s making everyone’s emotions run on high a lot quicker than they normally would.

Jonah is ready to start tearing apart everything in sight! We quickly split up and begin our search, Calvin’s parents are at the fighting grounds, Jack and Ashley take the shops and park on the pack lands while me, Brooke and Calvin take the woods, it’s a huge forest so we split up 3 different ways to cover more ground quickly,

“Hand over control to me Liam, I’ll get us around fast while you concentrate on looking for our girl!” He’s talking sense so I quickly strip off, tie my shorts to my ankle and shift immediately handing over full control to him.

I tell him to head to the lake where we found her before, she mentioned she walks there a lot so it’s worth a try. We run with everything we have and soon arrive at the lake but she’s not there, f**k! I check in with the others but no one has found her yet and I’m starting to lose my s**t fast.

Without warning, Jonah takes off with everything he has. “Jonah! what are you doing?” I bellow out in my head.

“Take a good sniff Liam!” Is all he says so that’s exactly what I do and I soon understand why he took off as he did, we can smell our girl, she must have been here not long ago so we work on following her scent.

We keep running for what feels like hours but in reality, it’s only been minutes, I’m barely holding on to my s**t and my heart is hammering against my ribs from the fear I feel at not seeing our mate again.

We continue on through more trees tearing apart anything that gets in our way when I quickly realize her scent is getting stronger, Jonah has noticed to as he starts whining in my head.

We start running up a steep hill quickly reaching the top, and the minute Jonah stops my heart starts pounding as my senses come back to me, there she is, my girl, my little mate. She’s sitting on the cliff edge and I can see her shoulders are quickly rising and falling and I instantly know she’s crying, what the f**k has happened?

I’m immediately filled with an anger burning through my veins at the thought that someone has hurt her, I need to talk to her right now so I quickly shift back and put on my shorts before she can see anything and slowly make my way over to her not to scare her.

“Little wolf what’s wrong? Has someone hurt you?” I try to sound calm but fail miserably. She looks up to me with her big blue doe eyes filled with tears and my heart breaks as I quickly sit down next to her and pray, she’s ok.

“No, no one has hurt me…I…I just miss them so much Liam!” My heart beats hard seeing the pain in her eyes, f**k!

“I need to link Brooke to let her know you’re ok and then we can chat if you want, ok?”

“Ok but I don’t want anyone else coming here, I just…I can’t!”

“Shh shh, little wolf, it’s ok!” I wrap my arm around her and gently rub her arm to try and calm her and within seconds I can feel her slowly relax, having her calm down from my touch feels good.

“Brooke, I’ve got her, she’s safe!” I link her and she instantly links back.

“Where is she? What’s happened? Is she ok?”

“That would be perfect Liam, thank you so much!” She throws her arms around me before gracing me with her smile and at the same time, I feel Jonah finally settle down for the first time since we heard our little mate was missing. Thank f**k!

“Let me know what you would like on the stone and I’ll get Joseph on it today then we can do get the memorial all done tomorrow!”

“Really that soon?” She looks like an excited child and I’m soon brought back to the reality that she is a child and this situation is so f****d up!

“Yes, my little wolf that soon! Now, how about we head back to the packhouse while you decide what you’d like on the stone? It’s getting late and I do believe you have a ball to get ready for!”

She agrees and by the time we reach the packhouse I know exactly what she wants on the stone and get Joseph straight on it. Ashley catches up to us as we get inside the house and rushes Beth off to help him decide on his outfit while I head for the Alpha floor.

“Hey Cal ok to come in?” I link him as soon as I’m outside his lounge door. He hollas out yes and I let myself in to find him and Brooke curled up on the sofa and the poor girl looks so worn out.

“How is she? Where is she?” Brooke spills out before my a*s even meets the couch. I tell them everything that happened and about my idea to build the memorial hoping they wouldn’t mind and thankfully they were fine with it. Brooke loved the idea which was a huge relief, I don’t want to step on anyone’s toes, just help when I can.

“She’s with Ashley now, he had some dramatic wardrobe problem he needed her help with. I roll my eyes remembering the scene he displayed and we’re all laughing in seconds knowing exactly what he’s like.

“Oh, and before I forget to tell you, I’ve ordered a second credit card for my account, as soon as it comes, I’ll give it to you guys for Bethany. I figured it would be better if you’ve always got a card with you!” We chat for a little while before Brooke heads out to meet Ashley and Beth to start getting ready while I and Cal head to my floor to check in on Bella
