Thalia POV
I am talking with Rory about getting new training equipment. Many warriors expressed interest in learning specialized weaponry. This requires additional safety measures and keeps me occupied and involved in training, even if I can’t train for the moment.
“I think for the blade training we are going to need additional throwing stations. Warriors excel at hand-to-hand combat with blades but not at distance throwing. Each blade has its own weight and counterweights to balance it. The foundations are the same, but size, type, and the like matter,” I said.
“My blades are attached to me,” Rory said, laughing.
I laughed with her, and then my phone rang. When I answered, it was Rebel. “Hey Mom!”
“Hello, Thalia,” she said, and I could already hear in her voice that something was wrong.
“Is everything okay?” I asked. Rory immediately looked up and began listening.
Rebel sighed, “Not exactly. I think Amber is in trouble. I’m not sure what kind of trouble, but it's why she and Adrian have so many issues. When I asked if it was Adrian, she said it was her, not Adrian. Then I asked her what she did, and she said she couldn’t tell me.”
“Why?”
“Because she physically cannot say anything. Roxie was trying to figure it out but said there is something blocking Amber from speaking the truth. When she said she couldn’t tell me, she meant she literally couldn’t tell me.”
“I feel like there is a question in here,” I said.
“There is. Since she can’t say anything, is there a possibility you could read her thoughts?”
“Sure. I can try. Do you want me to come to the pack tomorrow?”
“I think that would be great if you could. I know Adrian is anxious now.”
“I’ll bring Rodrigo with me. I think he is missing Sinclair.”
“That sounds great. I will see you tomorrow then. I’ll have Isaiah prepare a room for you both.”
We hung up, and I looked at Rory. Her eyebrows were furrowed together. “She has a mental block? How?”
“I don’t know, but I will see what I can do tomorrow. I need to let Aiden know that I will be going to Ironclaw with Rodrigo tomorrow.”
“Why, Mojito?” I heard it behind me as Aiden wrapped his arms around my waist.
“Mom asked me to read Amber’s mind to figure out what she did.”
He pulled back and looked at me with that eyebrow in the air. He knows what he does to me when he looks at me that way. “What do you mean?”
I explained to him what Rebel told me, then mentioned that I would be taking Rodrigo with me to see Sinclair.
“Do you want me to go with you?” Aiden asked.
“No. You don’t have a Beta, and isn’t Enzo, Damon, and their families coming tomorrow?”
