Austin POV

We are almost at the west gate. My mind is focused on getting to Rebel. I pray she and the pups are okay. It would gut me to lose any of them.

‘Alpha, I spoke to Luna. Cullen is beating her right now. You have to hurry.’

I let out a ferocious roar and the warriors, plus Renz and Jessup look at me. “Your Luna is being beat up by that fucker Cullen as we speak.”

I hear the roars, growls and snarls of everyone around me, when a cell phone rings. It’s Renz’ cell phone. Speak” he says.

His eyes darken as he hands me the phone. “Cullen’s beta, Max.”

“WHERE IS MY MATE?!” I roar.

“Alpha, I am not calling to fight. I have told the warriors to stand down. I don’t like what Alpha Cullen is doing and I have tried to get him to reverse course, but he won’t listen. I don’t want the pack to pay for the sins of their Alpha. Rebel is in the pack house at a lower level. Cullen is beating her but I can’t bust through the door. I will lead you to her when you get here.” Max says, and I can hear the sincerity in his voice but I don’t care about that right now.

“The council guard is on their way and we are a few minutes out from the west gate. Meet us there. If this is a trick, my warriors will level your fucking pack.” I bark.

“On the Moon Goddess, I swear I want to help. I will meet you at the west gate.” With that, he disconnects the call.

I turn to everyone and speak, “LISTEN UP! Beta Max is saying he wants to help us get our Luna. He told the warriors to stand down. If they don’t attack us, we will leave them alone. If they raise their hands to us, level them. Understood?!”

“Yes, Alpha!”

“Let’s move!” I say loudly.

A few minutes later we reach the west gate of Ironclaw. Elias and the council guard is also waiting for us. I see a car waiting as well. “Alpha, you may need to get Luna Rebel medical attention. I will make sure you get there quickly.”

“Thank you, Elias.”

I see Beta Max approaching. He opens the gate and his expression is serious. “I’m glad you are here. Alpha Cullen has lost his mind. Please, I will take you to your Luna.”

My eyes darken. “Lead the way.”

As we run towards the pack house, I see pack members everywhere. No one is scared of us being here. Max must have told everyone to stand down, warrior or not.

“Alpha Austin, I’m not sure how you will find Rebel. Please know, I didn’t know he was going to treat her badly. I tried to stop him from taking her too. But, he has gone crazy. He refused to listen. The warriors don’t agree with his actions either, which is why they had no problem standing down.”

“Understood. Thank you for calling me and leading me to my mate.” I said curtly.

Elias and I follow Max to the pack house and down a set of stairs. As we reach the bottom I hear her. Rebel. My mate. She is screaming in pain. Cronos and I snap. I pull my shirt off and shift and go down to the end of the hall. The screams are getting louder and I hear her.

“You’re just a puppy trying to play the big, bad, wolf. You’re nothing. My mate will be here and you will die!” I hear her as I am running towards the door and I hear another crack and Rebel screaming out. Cronos busts through the door so hard it splinters.
