“Like what you see?” He chuckles and I turn around and close my eyes.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to stare.” I squeaked out.

I hear him chuckle again and he sounds like he is putting on clothes. “Thalia.” He

says

and waits for me to respond. I slowly turn around, “You can stare whenever you want. It doesn’t upset me that my mate looks at me.” He smirks.

I just nod. I am super uncomfortable now and I think he notices. “Hey. I am just teasing, Thalia. I’m sorry if I’m making you uncomfortable.” He said.

I take a deep breath. “It’s okay.”

“My parents are going to be here in a bit. Perhaps you would like to have breakfast with us?”

“Your parents?”

“Yeah, I spoke to them last night and told them I met my mate. They insisted. If it makes you uncomfortable though, I understand and I will get a cab to take you back home, so you don’t have to walk.” He said.

I barely know this man. Now I’m meeting his parents. Well, if I think about it, he met my parents the night before. It probably couldn’t go any worse than what happened last night. “I’ll meet them. I need to leave after though. I have some things to do.” I said.

“Okay. Shall we?” He said, holding out his hand.

I smiled gently and grabbed his hand. As we are leaving the room, Reid walks out of his. “Good morning.” He said grinning.

“Why are you so chipper?” Aiden asked.

“Navy just chewed my ass out.” Reid laughed.

“Who’s Navy?” I asked.

“She is my mate.” Reid said proudly. “I left a bunch of fake snakes all over the room for her before I left to come here with Aiden.”

“Bro, you didn’t.” Aiden laughed.

“I sure did. What kind of mate would I be if I didn’t show her, I was thinking about her before I left?”

I laughed. “Your way of thinking about her is by putting snakes everywhere?”

“Navy and I pull pranks on each other all the time. It’s our love language.” Reid smiled mischievously.

I shake my head. Reid and Aiden seem like polar opposites. Aiden acts more reserved, and Reid is more of an extrovert. You can tell their relationship is solid though. It’s like Mia and me. Our relationship is solid. Though she is the shy one and I’m the one that will slit your throat.

I’m a much stronger person, but around Aiden, I get nervous. He makes me nervous. Now, I’m going to meet his parents. They are going to see right through me. They are going to see I’m no good for their son and they would be right. I’m not good for him. He is kind and gentle and protective and takes care of me. All this in a day’s time. What has he gotten from me though? Nothing but the headache of my family and their drama.

Suddenly, I don’t feel worthy enough to meet his parents. They are going to hate me. I should let it happen though. Let them hate me so Aiden will leave and find someone better than me.

“Mom, Dad! Over here!” I heard Aiden call out.

Two people turn around and I’m taken aback. Yes, these are definitely his parents. Aiden and Reid both look like a combination of their mom and dad. But Aiden gets his black hair from his mom and his blue eyes from his dad. Reid is the opposite. He has his mother’s green eyes and father’s brown hair.

“Reid, have you spoken to Navy yet?” Mom said.

“Sure did.” He said with a shameless full-on smile.

Dad chuckles, “Navy was red as a tomato son. She was ready to come here and drag you off by your ear.”

“So, I was told.” Reid laughed.

Aiden speaks up, “Mom, Dad, this is Thalia, my mate.” Then he looks at me, Thalia, these are my parents, Austin and Rebel Willis.”

I look at them both and hold out my hand, “It’s very nice to meet you both.” I said, respectfully.

Rebel was the first one to approach me, “My Goddess, you are beautiful! Be warned, I’m a hugger.” She said as she pulled me in for an embrace. At first, I stiffen and then I relax. She gives great hugs.
