Chapter 359
Thalia POV
I get they are my uncle and grandfather, but they don’t get to come in here what cofing, when they were never there for us. They disces my mother and by prong then twee grandchildren. I will be damned if they try to harm the only person that has treated we like Family
“Listen, I understand you both want to come in re and be the knights in shining armor, bar
1 you have been completely absent by your own choice, for my entire life” I said, “I am fex finding out about you, i have no strong connections with you at the moment. Howting tio Rand is hurting my mother, my sister and me. The re bastard in this equation is Diego”
“I noticed you didn’t mention your brother.” Valino sald
“Veal, well he is very much like Diego and hates my guts.” 1 said.
Abuelo then looks at me thoughtfully, “I see.” Then he looks at To Raid, “My apologes for our outburst, Raul. We are angry and it would appear that it was being misdirected to you”
“No problem.” He said. “Listen, I lost any respect had left for Diego when Thalia was fourteen,”
“That’s very specific.” Abuelo said.
“You’ll understand why shortly,” Aiden said.
I see Austin and Rebel coming out of the pack hospital, Rebel runs up to me and hugs me.” Thalia, my sweet girl. How are you feeling with all of this today?”
“Mom, I’m okay. Things are going to turn a corner, and everything will be happy again. You’ll see,” I said.
“How are my grandpups?” Austin asked with a smile.
I put my hand to my stomach, “They are still in here.” I said with a smile as Aiden puts his arms around me from behind.
“Moon Goddess is certainly blessing this family to think, you went from a zero percent chance to completely healed.” Rebel said happily as she hugged me again.
Abuelo and Tio Valeno are looking at me curiously. I pull back and look at Rebel and Austin, My grandfather and uncle don’t know my past. We need to check on my mother and then I need to fill them in on everything”
Austin’s eyes darkened. “I’m glad his torture is beginning”
“It’s only going to get worse, dad.” Aiden said and handed him the folder.
Rebel and Austin are both growling after reading the findings and Rebel turns to Raul “How
can we help her?”
“It’s going to take a couple of surgeries to fix the bones being reset. You know how painful that will be, Luna Rebel.” Tio Raul said.
I see tears shed by Rebel and I sense Aiden’s confusion as well as my own as I see Austin holding Rebel, comforting her. It occurs to me that I don’t really know Rebel’s past and it appears she has one, I need to sit with her one day and learn about my mate’s parents.
‘Honestly, I’d like to know, too, Mom never wanted to talk about it, but I’ve always wondered what she went through.’ Aiden said in the mind link.
Tio Raul takes us inside the hospital and straight to Blanca’s room. She is sitting up and drinking broth with crackers,
“Ma? How are you feeling?” I asked. She looks frail and haunted. The last time I saw her, she didn’t look starved or beaten down. My heart breaks. How she must have suffered so much after we left.
“Weak. But I feel safe now, mija.” She said reaching for my hand and looks at Aiden. “Come. Let me get a good look at you,”
Aiden walks over and sits on the other side of my mother. “We are going to get you healthy, Blanca. You focus on your recovery, We will handle everything else. I promise Diego is going to suffer greatly. He’s in the middle of phase one of what I have planned for him.”
From behind me my grandfather asked, “You have phases?”
“Typically, no. But Diego warrants special treatment.” Aiden replied. “Killing him would be mercy. He deserves far worse.”
“Ma, was he torturing you the entire time we were gone?” I asked.
“He started after I spoke to Mia.” She said. “I called her to wish her a happy eighteenth birthday and even though I was in my room, he overheard my conversation. He called me a traitor for helping you both escape.”
So, for a month my mother has been starved and beaten at the hands of that animal. “What did he do mom? You have serious trauma.”
“He sent me to the basement.” She said with sadness in her eyes.
“THE BASEMENT?!” I said loudly.
“Can someone explain?” Abuelo asked.
I turned around and now hot tears are running down my cheeks. “Abuelo, Diego supported the family by making the Moreno’s a Crime Family. Like the mafia. The Basement is where he sent his enemies to endure countless forms of torture Military style torture.” I said. “There, it’s not just beatings. It’s teeth pulling, bones breaking, water boarding, electric shocks,

starvation and even rape,”
Then I looked at my mom, “He didn’t have you raped, did he?”
“No. He ordered it, but his men wouldn’t do that to me. They didn’t even want to torture me, but it was either comply or die. So, they did everything except pull out my teeth and rape me.”
I felt an immediate relief. Knowing the trauma rape can do, I would have never forgiven myself for leaving her behind if she had experienced that too, “Well, we are going to get you back to one hundred percent. You will lack for nothing ma
“He fucking ordered for my daughter to be raped?” Abuelo snarled and he is breathing hard,” I’ll fucking kill him!”
Aiden spoke up, “You’ll have to get in line, Damago. He did worse by my mate.”
“Where is your brother?” She asked,
