Chapter 382
Rodrigo POV
I’ve spent plenty of time in Blackstone. My sisters are good. My father is dead. Armando is dead. Luca seems like a good guy and even though Aiden and Thalia finished my dad off, I’m not mad at them. My father had it coming. Aiden takes good care of Thalia, and I guess that’s a good thing. I can’t believe how deep the manipulation ran with my father. It doesn’t matter anymore though.
I spent time with Abuelo Damaro and Tio Valeno. It was interesting getting to know them. Mom was also very happy that I was no longer holding a grudge against Thalia and Mia. I’m not, but I am still in my feelings. Both of them are Lunas of their packs. They both have their wolves and because of a lie, I lost mine. I’m no better than a human now. I never did anything to anyone either. Sure, I may have disliked my sisters because of my father’s influence, but I never took action against them.

I told my mom that I made the decision to head back home and continue running the family business with the intent of going straight. I wouldn’t engage in illegal behavior. If I can meet a nice woman and settle down, then I would. Being here only reminds me that I really did get the short end of the stick and it’s not fair. Of all of Diego Moreno’s kids, I stood by his side, believing in him and doing everything he told me to do like a damn lap dog, only to end up with nothing.
I’m hurt because it has gone unnoticed by my family and at the same time, I can’t even blame them. Especially, Thalia. She endured the worst of it because my father didn’t believe she was his daughter. At least he knew the truth before dying.
I walked out with the clothes I came here in and made my way to the car waiting to take me to the airport. Thalia and Aiden were waiting for me as well as mom, Mia and Luca.
Thalia steps forward, “Are you sure you don’t want to join Blackstone or Crossfang, hermano?”
“I’m sure. I’m not even a wolf now, hermana. I have no business being in a pack.” I said.
Aiden comes forward followed by Luca, “I’m sure I speak for not only myself but for Luca as well, that if you ever change your mind, the door is always open.”
Mia comes forward, “It seems so sudden. We are all finally on the same page and now you are leaving. I wish we had some more time. Are you sure you have to leave?”
“First, thank you for the open-ended invitation. Second, yes, I am sure I have to leave. Father’s company still needs someone to run it. I will need to take over operations and then I want to make sure the Moreno Family is known for being on the straight and narrow.” I said.
My mother comes up to me with a proud look and hugs me. “Step into the role meant for you, hijo. We will be fine, but please do call often. Let us know how you are doing.”
