Thalia POV
It’s been a couple of months since my father was disposed of and for that matter, so was Rose. It’s been peaceful here, but my abuelo and tio Valeno are still here. Tio Valeno is traveling back and forth to keep up with the pack, but every time he returns, he brings more books to go over everything regarding the prophecy. I also try to figure out how that plays with the merging of Ironclaw and meeting people that would be foes but end up being friends and help us in winning the war. I have two years, well one year and ten months now, to figure everything out.
When I give birth to our daughters, then training will begin at Obscure Maw. Aiden and I will take our daughters with us and I will finally meet more of my mother’s family. I thought I didn't have any family other than my mom and siblings, and it turns out I have way more and it’s only growing as I rub my belly.
Lately, our daughters have been doing the salsa and trying to rearrange my insides. It’s driving me insane. To think, I still have seven more pups to go.
As I am in my thoughts, Aiden walks into my study and growls approvingly. “My sexy mojito mama and my girls are having a bonding moment I see.”
I chuckled, “Why don’t you come sit next to me and be daddy for a while? I mean that in more ways than one.” I said winking at him.
“Not too much longer now. Our daughters will be here in a month or less.”
“I know. I think they are going to be dancers. They keeps doing salsa moves on my bladder.” I said, almost pouting.
Aiden laughs and then kisses the top of my head, making me feel safe. His hand is rubbing my belly gently and it feels so good that I fall asleep.
Next thing I know, I am waking up in our bedroom, in our bed and Aiden is holding me and rubbing my back.
I yawn and stretch. “I fell asleep on you. I’m sorry.”
Aiden chuckles, “Don’t be sorry. It’s cute listening to you snore.”
I gasped, “I do not snore!”
“Oh, yes you do. Ever since your sexy ass belly has gotten rounder, you sleeping has gotten louder.” He said with a chuckle.
Then he kisses me. “It’s okay, mojito. It sounds adorable.”
I shake my head. “I’ll be glad when my body is my own again.”
Then he laughed. “It’ll be your own for a short while. We still have seven more to go. The OB/GYN is going to be on standby.”
“I need a vet, not an OB/GYN. I’m going to have a litter of pups at this rate.” I said jokingly.
Aiden laughed. “Well, it’s dinner time, how about we get some food. Besides, Damaro wants to go over some old documents with you.”
“Okay. That works.” I said. My sleep schedule has been off lately. I stopped trying to get it under control. I figured, I should rest when I’m tired and work when I have energy. Otherwise, I’m forcing it and it’s no good for my health.
‘It’s no good for mine either. You were stressing me out for a while there.’ Nyx said. ‘Leon was getting worried about me.’
‘Sorry chica. I stopped fighting it at least.’ I said.
‘About damn time too!’ she huffed.
Aiden chuckled, “Nyx certainly enjoys her beauty sleep, huh?”
As we are walking down, albeit slowly with my round belly, we run into Adrian. He is helping out for a while during Isaiah’s absence. He is clearly unhappy.
“Bro, what’s wrong?” Aiden asked.
“Amber. She is impatient and drives me insane sometimes.” He said, walking past us. He runs out the front door and before it closes I see him shift and head into the tree line.
“Something precious and another obstacle? What are you talking about, abuelo?” I asked.
He unrolls the scroll and Aiden immediately clears the top of his desk. Abuelo lays it down and then looks at me. “Have you ever heard of hunters?”
Aiden immediately growls and apparently this is not good. “Hunters, like those with rifles, hunting deer?” I asked.
Abuelo looks at me seriously, “Diego really was a bastard and didn’t teach you or your siblings a damn thing.” He growled, but continued. “Hunters for werewolves are very dangerous. They are humans with special abilities to see who are wolves. They have an uncanny amount of strength that rivals our own. They are the worst predators for us because they have special abilities to seek us out and not be detected in the process.”
Then Aiden adds, “Hunters are assholes. Even when they say they want to help, they really don’t and backstab everyone. They are definitely not allies.”
I start thinking about the Moon Goddess’ words, “Remember she said we were to expect outsiders in the future and that we needed to merge with Ironclaw. Perhaps the hunters are the outsiders she is sending our way?”
Abuelo presses his lips together and shakes his head. “I have a hard time believing that hunters would help us, nieta.”
“Okay, what about the something precious?” I asked, trying to wrap my head around this entire conversation.
“Well, it is said that the war will be defeated with the chosen one, but that you will have a powerful tool in your possession to tip the scale in our favor.”
“So if we don’t have me and this precious tool, we will lose the war?”
‘It appears so. I’m concerned about the hunters and I’m concerned that we don’t have this tool.” Abuelo said.
“Julian knows about the tool too, doesn’t he?”
“I don’t see how he wouldn’t know.”
