His plump mate (Rebel and Austin) by Buchanan novel Chapter 391

Sinclair POV

Isaiah is mated to one of us. Unbelievable. I wonder which one of us it is. Isaiah sounded mad and frustrated. When I said we didn’t want any distractions, I only meant I wanted to concentrate on finding my birth family before going back. I could always finish my research back at Blackstone though.

Thalia said Isaiah has been looking for us since we left. I hung up because I need to talk to Kaia first. She said she is planning a grand exit. I don’t know what that entails or how long it will take. But she has been putting everything in place and said she has to plan every last detail or the plan will fail.

I know Kaia. She may have an attitude and seems like an airhead, but that is exactly why she is lethal. She is unassuming. More accurately, she is like a lioness. She is beautiful, lazy on the outside, but does all the hunting. She strikes when least expected and always goes for the kill. She gathers intel and makes sure to leave you room to hang yourself and then guides you into squeezing the noose yourself.

So, if she isn’t ready to close the chapter in that part of her life and leave with a clean break, then she won’t leave. You couldn’t force her either. If you try, you’ll be sorry, as most men have found out the hard way.

I dial her number and luck is on my side when she answers her phone on the third ring. “Kaia!” I said, relief in my voice.

“Sinclair!” she said, mocking my reaction.

“Girl, where are you with your mission?” I asked.

“I can’t walk away yet, Sinclair. I have finished setting up everything. I’m working on outside details. Getting everything legal ready and everything medical ready.” She said.

“Medical?” I asked. “Are you alright?”

“Yup. Right as rain. Anyway, did you need something?”

“Uh, are you sitting down?” I asked.

“In a manner of speaking. Shoot.” She said.

“Okay. Isaiah is looking for us.” I said.

“Why?”

“One of us, is his mate.” I said quickly.

“Are you shitting me, right now? Isaiah? He doesn’t even like us. Why did Moon Goddess pair him with one of us?”

“Like I would know the answer. Anyway, Isaiah was here for two months and couldn’t locate us. I was on the phone with Thalia and I was on speaker apparently. Anyway, I said not to give our numbers to Isaiah or tell him where we are because we are coming back and we need to wrap up things here and we don’t need the distraction.” I said.

“Yeah, I certainly cannot afford a distraction right now. I’m too close to executing my mission.” Kaia said in agreement.

“Yeah, but Isaiah walked in and heard me say it and now he is furious.”

“Okay, well, he can stew in his own juices. Everyone knew we would be gone for a few months to tie up loose ends. Especially Alpha Austin. Send Thalia a message and tell her to tell Isaiah to talk to his dad.” She said.

She’s right. The only one that really has any idea of our lives is Alpha Austin. Though he doesn’t know all the details, he just knows why we are the way we are. Maybe it will help Isaiah cope until we get there.

“Still I don’t like keeping him hanging. What I am doing I can do from Blackstone. Is there anyway you can finish up what you are doing back at the pack?”

“Unfortunately, no. I have too many moving parts here. This is an intricate plan, Sinclair. Go back first, and if he is your mate, let me know so I can give you a proper congratulations.” She said.

Chad looks at me differently. He narrows his eyes, then I see him clench his fist. “He isn’t your dad anymore than you are my sister.”

He opens the door and pushes me inside roughly. I turned around, “What the hell, Chad?”

“What right do you think you have to talk back or get in our faces?” My foster sister said. But she stopped in her tracks and looked at me strangely too.

“Candy, I know you care nothing for me, but believe it or not, I was invited by dad to come here. So where is he?” I said shortly.

I noticed Chad and Candy both looking at me and then each other. “What?” I asked, finally having enough.

“How are you in designer clothes? How are you earning money now?”

“That would be my business, now wouldn’t it?” I said. If they try anything, I’m trained. I don’t like how they are looking at me. “Where is dad?”

“I’m right here.” He said, looking at me with an interested eye. It honestly gives me the creeps. “I told you to come because you have been trying to contact us. What do you want?”

That was it? Well, good, let me get this over with. “I only wanted to tell you all I’m leaving town permanently. Dad, even though no one wanted me here, you still gave me a roof when I needed one, so I felt I should at least say good bye.”

“Where are you going?” He asked.

“Wherever the wind takes me.” I said and I walked towards the door. “You won’t see me again. I only ever wanted a family. To be accepted. Since that isn’t possible, I’m living for myself now.” I finished and walked out the door.
