Aiden POV
I told Thalia I was going to Ironclaw. I told her what Alpha Max said and of course she wanted to come with me a go full blown Latina on Alpha Paul’s ass.
“Slow down, mojito.” I said, chuckling. “You are pregnant. Not exactly in a condition where you should be fighting anyone.”
She narrowed her eyes at me and furrowed her eyebrows. She looks like a little angry kitten, and it is the cutest damn thing. I am struggling to keep a straight face.
“Being pregnant makes me more dangerous, Aiden!” She pouted.
“You are dangerous at any time, mojito. But you are having a hard time climbing stairs right now. How do you think you will fair in a fight with an Alpha?”
Nyx pulls forward, “Oh, I will fare really well, Aiden. That guy is a royal asshole. I don’t like that he lied and wanted you to wait six months. There is a war coming and he is burning through our timeline!”
“Nyx, I understand how you feel, but let’s try to be diplomatic about this first. The good news is that his dad Alpha Max is setting up the meeting. So, Mom, Dad and I are going to visit him. Can you give Thalia control now?” I said, trying to coax these two into calming down.
When Thalia took control, I grabbed her face and kissed her. She melts in my arms, and I feel her entire body relaxed. Man, we have come a long way from where we started. When I pulled back, I looked her in the eyes.
“I don’t know how I’m going to handle all our daughters. Especially if they have your temper.” I said with a grin.
She rolls her eyes at me. “You? Imagine their mates later. That should be fun to witness.”
I laughed, “None of them are going to have mates. I won’t allow it.” I said, feeling very protective of all of my daughters and there are only the first two that haven’t been born yet.
Thalia laughs heartily. “I love you, guapo. Seriously, though, see if you can find out what Alpha Paul’s problem is with you. He is clearly doing this on purpose. Do you two have history?”
“No. I’ve dealt with him on very rare occasions. I don’t know why he is acting like this at all. Everything I have heard about him over the years though, makes me believe he is just a bad alpha. Even Alpha Max said yesterday that he should have made his beta the Alpha, if that gives you any idea of how his own pack looks at the guy.”
“Okay. I still want to go.” She said pouting again and crossing her arms.
I decide to switch topics, “Have you heard from Kaia yet?”
“No. I’m not likely to either. If she sent a message through Sinclair, then she is too busy to be bothered right now.”
“Is she always like this?”
“Yeah. She marches to the beat of her own drum.” Thalia said.
***
After calming Thalia down, I kissed her goodbye and headed out with mom and dad.
“I wonder what lies Max’s son is planning to tell us.” Mom said.
Dad laughed, “Well, Max knows that Roxie is going to take over as soon as he does lie.”
“So, your mate can speak directly to the Moon Goddess?” Max asked.
“More like the Moon Goddess will talk to her. After her Luna Ceremony, the Moon Goddess spoke directly to Thalia. She said that there was a war coming in the next two years. She said that there would be people we meet along the way that can help tip the scales in our favor to win the war. She made mention of Ironclaw as well.” I said carefully.
“Ironclaw? What about our pack?” Paul asked, finally joining the conversation.
“Well, this is the delicate part of the situation. The Moon Goddess told Thalia that Ironclaw would need to merge with Blackstone.” I said, seriously.
Max was the first to ask, “Why?”
I shook my head, “I have no idea. According to my mate, the merger needs to happen, but Moon Goddess didn’t say why.”
Paul scoffed, “It all sounds like bullshit. Conveniently, your mate, that no one has met, suddenly talks to the Moon Goddess and tells you that we need to merge with you. Do you take us for fools?”
Dad jumped in, “Alpha Paul, before you go mouthing off to Alpha Aiden, perhaps you should verify his information first. That’s what any good alpha would do.”
Max then jumped in, “Paul, apologize to Alpha Aiden for your rudeness. He came here in good faith.”
Paul looks at his father with hateful eyes, “I apologize.” He said with gritted teeth.
“Lie.” Mom said and her face became stern.
