His plump mate (Rebel and Austin) by Buchanan novel Chapter 395

Thalia POV

I’m waiting anxiously for Aiden to return with what I hope will be good news. Otherwise, I don’t know what we are going to do.

‘You know Moon Goddess will have a solution for us, right?’ Nyx said.

‘Do you really think so? I mean she told us we needed to merge with Ironclaw. Not that she was giving it to us.’ I told Nyx.

‘Thalia, Moon Goddess wouldn’t give us an impossible task. We just don’t see the path to accomplish it yet. Or maybe the path isn’t ready for us yet.’

What Nyx is saying is correct. Why give us a task we couldn’t accomplish when she said Blackstone is her most favored pack now? It just feels like we are climbing uphill.

‘Yes, and eventually we are going to reach the top.’ Nyx said, interrupting my thoughts.

‘Was it really interrupting your thoughts or are you just sharing your thoughts?’ She smirked and I laughed.

After eating some food, again, I leave with abuelo to the library for us to continue studying the books he had Tio Valeno bring back. Tio Valeno has left and won’t be back until I’ve had my pups. I have gotten to know my abuelo a lot recently though. It’s kind of nice having more family; family that actually is happy to have me around.

As abuelo and I are talking about possibilities of the special tool needed to win the war I start wondering about Ironclaw. “Do you think the tool is in Ironclaw?”

Abuelo stopped. “I don’t know enough about Ironclaw to have an opinion. From what Aiden and Austin have told me, Ironclaw doesn’t have any significant resources. They manufacture steel and nothing else.”

“I don’t get why we need to merge with them though. Why give us this task, that seems really painful for Aiden, for a regular pack?” I asked.

“Maybe it isn’t for the pack itself but the territory, nieta.” Abuelo replied.

“What do you mean?”

Abuelo pulls out one of the area maps and lays it on the table. He looks over at me struggling to get up and gives me his hand and smiles. “My great granddaughters giving you a hard time?”

“They are living their best life inside of me.” I said flatly, making Abuelo laugh.

“Don’t ever lose your wit, nieta. It’s entertaining as hell.” He said and then pointed to the map. “Okay, this whole territory is Blackstone.”

“Okay, it’s a pretty large territory.” I said.

“Yeah, but this area…” he said pointing to another section of the map, “…this is Ironclaw.”

I look at the area and see there is nothing in between. “So, wait, Ironclaw begins where Blackstone ends?”

“Exactly. Strategically, merging Ironclaw and Blackstone together would cover almost the entire southwestern region. These are the two largest packs in this area. Behind Blackstone and Ironclaw are maybe two or three small packs. Then there are the mountains to the west. I think the merger has something to do with territory; but once again, I don’t know much about Ironclaw to be certain.”

“So, let’s go through this library and see what we can find.” I said.

As we start going through the shelves, Nyx starts getting anxious. ‘What’s going on, Nyx?’

‘We have incoming, Thalia. You better get ahead of it.’

I grabbed abuelo’s arm, ‘what kind of incoming?’

‘An attack is coming, like right now.’ She said and she is pacing in my head.

“Abuelo, Nyx says an attack is coming right now.” I said and we rushed out of the library.

‘Isaiah?!’ I called out in the mind link.

Rory finds me and grabs my hand, “Tally! You need to get in a safe room!”

“So do you!” I said.

“Let’s go together.” I said and turned to my abuelo, “come with us.”

He nods and follows us to the safe room on the alpha level in the nursery. Thank the Goddess that Aiden showed me this one last week and told me it’s a hidden one. As soon as Rory and I walk through the door, Abuelo closes it and locks it from the inside.

“ABUELO!”

“Stay here, nieta. I will be fine. Don’t let anyone find you.” He said and I heard him close the nursery door. I start crying and Rory is holding me.

“I’m afraid he will get hurt, Rory.” I said with tears coming down my eyes.

“It’s okay, Tally. Aiden will be here soon. The pack is moon blessed. Everything will be okay. You’ll see.” She said, trying to convince me and calm me down.

“Argh!” I said, grasping my stomach and it tightens my insides. “What the fuck!”

“No, no, no! Not now.” Rory said, guiding me to a seat in the safe room. Looking at it now, it’s a decent set with pillows and a rocking chair. “Tally, has this been happening a lot today?”

“What?”

“The contractions?” she asked.

I shook my head. “No. This is the first time this has happened.”

“Okay, maybe it’s the stress. If it happens again, we are going to start timing them.”
