“My love, you should be resting. Why are you working?” Luca said to me.

I looked up and smiled, “Honestly, Luca, I’m fine. I am even sitting.”

Ever since we found out that I’m pregnant, Luca and Mom have been hovering over me. They want me on bed rest all the time. I am going crazy sitting around, doing nothing. I’m barely six weeks along, and Dr. Higslee said we are having a son. Lucas yipped and swung me around when we found out, and then said he was going to get the nursery ready and had been talking about names for our son. I didn’t think he would be this excited, but he is, and he can’t wait to see my belly swollen.

Honestly, I never thought I would have this kind of life or get to learn medicine. My father wasn’t a kind man. When Luca heard about my father and the kind of man he was, he was enraged. Blackstone is known for their mines. Perhaps I can get some gems from her and continue researching which stones generate energy. Plus, it’s six weeks. It’s time to tell her that she is going to be an aunt. I’m sure she will want to meet her nephew.”

Luca looks at me and chuckles, “You know I can’t deny you anything. As long as you promise me that you will go back to resting.”

I kissed him quickly, but he didn’t like that. He pulled me back and kissed me deeply, making my knees weak. I held on to him tighter, and I could feel his amusement in the mate bond as he continued kissing me.

Once he let go, he steadied me on my feet. “I love when you go weak in the knees for me,” he whispered in my ear, and it sent a shiver down my spine.

“Fine,” I said. “I’ll go back to our room. But I’m going to talk to Dr. Higslee about how much activity I’m allowed to have, Luca. I don’t like feeling like I’m being caged in.”

“We will be on the lookout for it, hermanita,” Thalia said. “What else is going on? How’s mom? How are you enjoying Crossfang? Is Luca treating you right?”

Luca heard her and responded, “I would never treat my Luna anything less than exceptionally loved, Thalia.”
