Aric POV
Adrian rushed past me and tossed a gun to Sinclair.
“What the fuck?!”
“I’ll explain later, Aric. Let’s go!”
As soon as we reached the battle, our guards were struggling. Behind me, I see Alpha Austin and Luna Rebel. I’ve heard legends about Rebel. I’ve heard her brutal way of cutting warriors and rogues down.
But my eyes were on Sinclair. She is not like Iris. She fights. She fights better than my warriors. Some of these are Paul’s boys. They are sloppy but not Sinclair. I see her looking at six rogues at Alpha Austin and Alpha Isaiah. She grabbed her gun and, with precision, shot three of the rogues between the eyes and walked right past Alpha Austin and Alpha Isaiah before driving her fist into another rogue’s face.
Adrian starts laughing. “Get him, Sin!”
She snapped her eyes and narrowed them at him, “I don’t go by that name anymore, Adrian!” She called back as she ripped out that rogue’s throat.”
The battle lasted all of fifteen minutes, and everyone is covered in blood, including Sinclair. I run over to her, “Are you okay? Are you hurt?”
She tilted her head at me, just like Iris used to do, “Yeah. I’m fine. Are you okay?”
“Yeah. I’m fine.”
Adrian puts an arm over Sinclair and smiles at me, “Sinclair here used to be a hitman. Didn’t she tell you?”
“A hitman?”
Adrian squeezes Sinclair’s shoulder tighter. She cocks her gun and puts it against his dick. “Remove your hand from me now, Adrian.”
He starts laughing and raises his hands in surrender. “You know your gun is empty now, Sinclair.”
She raised an eyebrow, pulled the trigger, and shot a round at his feet, making him jump.
“Not even close to being empty, Adrian.”
He smiled and shook his head. “Damn, Sinclair! I knew I liked you. You’re vicious.”
“Don’t tempt me to show you how vicious I can be, Adrian. Amber would miss you too much.”
Adrian became serious, “I doubt that.”
He turned and walked away. She looked at me, “See what I mean?”
“I see that you and I need to talk about your past. A hitman? If we are siblings, then you are two years younger than I am. That would make you twenty-one.”
“Yeah, so?”
“When were you a hitman?”
“From eighteen until I turned.”
“If we are siblings, you didn’t turn. You just got the boost you need to bring your wolf out.”
“Maybe. Although Mali said the Moon Goddess assigned her to me.”
“We are all assigned wolves.”
“Isaiah, do you need help burning the bodies?” Sinclair called over my shoulder.
“No. Go clean up and eat. You drew blood earlier with Aric. Get your energy back. We need to talk security afterward.”
Sinclair starts walking past and calls back, “I need a budget, Isaiah.”
