Aiden POV
I called Isaiah back, and he hit me with a bombshell. “Aiden, we have a cave of gems here. You won’t believe what kind either.”
“Cool it with the suspense and just tell me. Is it diamonds?”
“No. Purple Atlantonite.”
I sat up quickly, “Are you fucking with me right now, man?”
“Hell no. Check the incoming picture,” he said, and my phone buzzed. I opened the picture, and sure enough, it’s Purple Atlantonite.
“How the fuck?”
“Sinclair and her brother Aric, my beta, found the cave.”
“Back up, Sinclair and her brother?”
“Yeah, bro. Lots of shit is happening over here. I need you to come by. When Mom and Dad get back, you need to make a trip out this way. I also need to inspect the cave, but I was working through some of the financials and had to get the warriors started on Sinclair’s suggestions to reinforce security here. I’m heading out later this afternoon. I want to video call you and show you.”
“That sounds like a plan. Renz and Lacy are going to help fill in for the beta role until I get a replacement. They will be here tomorrow. I need to brief them. I might be able to make it in a couple of days.”
“Seriously, Renz and Lacy? I miss those two. Tell them I said hi.”
“I will. Now, tell me what else has been happening, starting with Sinclair,” I said.
Isaiah explained everything that has happened in just a few days since leaving. I’m fucking floored about Sinclair. That’s a whole other story to unwrap. I’m interested in understanding what she's found out since then, because, knowing her, she is already digging.
Right at that moment, one of my warriors mind links me, ‘Alpha, there are two rogues with their families here. They said they are Enzo and Damon. They said you are allowing them to join the pack.’
‘I am. Let them pass. Have them come directly to the pack house.’
“Hey bro, I have some new pack members coming to the pack house. It’s another long story, but I want to continue this conversation later.”
“Yeah, go handle your business. We’ll talk later,” Isaiah said, and he hung up.
I made my way to the entrance of the pack house and saw Enzo and Damon arrive with their families. Damon’s mate looks like she is almost due.
‘Raul, can you come to the pack house please?’
‘Everything okay, Aiden?’
‘New pack members. One is very pregnant. They are rogues. I think she probably needs medical attention.’
‘On my way.’
I closed the mind link and approached both families. “Enzo, Damon, welcome back.”
Enzo started the introductions, “Alpha, this is my mate, Maddie. This is my son Xavier and my daughter, Poppy.”
His family looked tired and possibly underfed. That’s the life of rogues, though. It always sucks when it’s a family, though.
“Alpha, this is my mate, Aven,” Damon said.
“Maddie, Aven, Xavier and Poppy, welcome to Blackstone. Lunch is being served; why don’t we go inside and have something to eat? Then we can have your things taken to your homes. I tend to put families in cottages around the pack.”
Aven and Maddie looked ready to cry. “Is everything okay?” I asked.
The nodded. “Overwhelmed. We’ve been living like nomads, Alpha. Thank you for letting us join your pack,” Maddie said.
“Um, Gamma Rory, why do your nails look like that?” Poppy asked.
Rory smiled, “Because I was born awesome. These things can cut through fruit like a knife. Wanna see?”
Xavier and Poppy’s eyes lit up, and they both nodded. She grabbed the apple from Poppy’s plate, threw it in the air, and sliced it with her hand.
“COOL!” They both said.
Raul walked in and chuckled, “Showing off again, Rory?”
“It’s what I do best,” Rory said.
I laughed, “I thought it was running your mouth.”
We all laughed, and finally everyone was more at ease. Enzo and Damon are still reserved, but their shoulders are less tense now.
“Aiden, perhaps you should introduce me,” Raul said.
“Right. Sorry.”
I introduced Raul, and then he asked Damon and Aven to follow him to a private room on the guest floor. He is going to give Aven a quick check and then have her come to the pack hospital.
I got up and then escorted Enzo and his family to the entrance of the pack house. “Now that everyone has had a moment to rest, why don’t you go to your home? We will talk more tomorrow,” I said, and I signaled to the warrior to escort them to the home set up for them.
Maddie is crying now. “Thank you so much, Alpha.”
I smiled and nodded and gestured for them to follow the warrior. Tomorrow I will talk more in detail with Enzo and Damon and find a position for them in the pack.
