His plump mate (Rebel and Austin) by Buchanan novel Chapter 513

Aiden POV

Thalia and I got back to the pack, and after we got settled, I brought her to my office to introduce her to Renz and Lacy. She hit it off with Lacy right away, which doesn’t surprise me, because Lacy is probably the most personable person I know.

“Luna, Aiden tells me that you are a very special wolf and also a kick ass fighter,” Renz said.

“Please, call me Thalia. Aiden’s biased,” Thalia responded with a smirk. “Though in my past life, I was a hitman.”

Renz and Lacy both looked at me. “Seems you forgot to mention some of the details, nephew,” Lacy said.

“Knives are her specialty,” I shrugged. “Don’t let her fool you, though. She is kick ass.”

Thalia blushes, and every time she blushes, I swear, all the blood rushes to my dick. I have to look away to calm down. We started talking about everything that has been happening in the pack. We also spoke about Isaiah and Kaia, and how they ended up taking over Ironclaw.

They were pretty surprised, and then they asked about the Purple Atlantonite, because Reid was around when Sinclair brought out her mother’s keepsake. I told them about the cave, and then Renz’s eyes lit up.

“No, shit. A cave?”

“Yeah. I was surprised too, but I saw it myself,” I said.

Lacy got up, “Thalia, how about you and I go to the kitchen and get some food so these boys can continue talking about dirt and rocks.”

Thalia laughed and then replied, “I thought you’d never ask.”

Renz and I chuckled. It’s fair that they don’t share the same enthusiasm as we do about mining. They tend to like the end result and don’t care much about the process.

“Renz, if I’m being honest, I lost Isaiah as my beta. I’m happy for him, but I honestly don’t know who I’m going to replace him with. I thought about upgrading Jonah and Rory to my betas and then replace them with different gammas, but they didn’t want the job. Sinclair, who you haven’t met yet, would be an excellent beta, but she is dedicated to finding out about her past. I need help getting a new beta,” I said.

“We can start the evaluation process once you walk me through everything you have upgraded. I can help you manage the pack, and you can work with the warriors. What about your lead warrior? Do you think he would want the beta role?” Renz asked.

“I think he would make a good gamma, but since Jonah wants to stay in that role, I don’t think the lead warrior will be ready to handle the beta role. Honestly, I’m not sure I believe anyone is ready for the beta role,” I sighed with a hint of frustration.

“Well, I have a solution, but it would require a transition period,” Renz said.

“I’m open to any suggestions.”

“Jules and Nala would take over as betas if Adrian came here with Amber. The lead warrior at Blue Moon would take the gamma role for sure.”

“Seriously?” I asked.

“Yeah. Plus, I think it would be good if Adrian and Amber had a chance of scenery. I’m sure you have noticed their relationship is unstable. I’m not sure what happened there though.”

“Thalia told me something is going on with Amber. A curse of sorts. We are researching it.”

“What happened?”

“You know that Alpha Paul was Kaia’s ex-husband and with the divorce, she got all the assets, right?”

“Yeah, what about it?” I asked as Renz leaned in to listen.

“Well, she inherited Black Enterprises. It turns out there is a member on the board named Harvey Birch. He is deeply connected to Julian, Thalia’s cousin.”

I growled low, and Renz looked at me like he didn’t understand. I will fill him in later. “Are you sure?”

“Yeah. Paul was embezzling pack funds. Kaia is running the financials through her own program. She is fucking brilliant when she works, bro. It’s a sight to see. Anyway, Paul bought houses, cars, and all other kinds of shit. It explains why he wasn’t keeping up with the pack. That’s what led Kaia to look into the assets, and that's how she found out about Birch. We need to go back to the city. Do you mind if we use the jet?”

“Not at all. Be careful though. Kaia is pregnant. You should take some guards with you.”

“Yeah, we are also staying next door to Thalia’s old home. Turns out, the house next door was owned by Paul.”

“That can’t be a coincidence, Isaiah.”

“What do you mean?”

“Diego was working with Julian to sell off Mia, remember? What if Paul was in on it too? Just be careful.”
