Adrian and I had a wonderfully intimate night last night. Part of me still thinks it’s because of the passageways. I’m going there today to get samples. I don’t know what is going on, but I have also been looking up the history of those passageways.

In the hierarchy of importance, this isn’t the most important thing right now. Julian is coming, and even if we are prepared, there is no telling how everything will turn out, and we may need those passageways. I want to get ahead of this, in case we need it.

I’m walking back to the Blackclaw territory with Adrian, Aiden, Thalia, and some of the warriors. Rory and Jonah are still looking into the passageways' history with Dad. Mom is helping Reid and Navy with training. Everyone has their own to-do list today.

Once we get to the passageway entrance, I asked Thalia to come in with me to test the theory. Then I will have Thalia leave. Aiden will take her place. We are timing it to five minutes or less, just to see if those same issues happen again.

I enter with Thalia. She looks around, amazed to be inside. “To think, this was here, and none of us knew about it.”

“Tell me about it,” I said as I started getting samples.

“Here, let me help,” Thalia said, grabbing a container from me.

“Thanks. How are you feeling?” I asked.

“Pretty normal.”

“Me too.”

When we were finished, I gave Thalia my sample bag. “Okay, send Aiden in. Stay on the other side of that door, though. I don’t want this to be some screwed-up situation later. I will scream your name, and you open the door. The air will snap him out of it if he is affected.”

Thalia nodded, but I could tell she was worried, too. I grabbed her hand. “Thalia, you know I love only Adrian, right? I would never take your happiness. We could call Adrian in here, and you stay with him. Would that be better for you?”

She hugged me. “Thank you,” she said. “I know Aiden loves me. I trust him. I just don’t know what to expect.”

“That’s why you stay close.”

She opened the door and Aiden walked in. We started talking. “I bet Adrian is losing his shit.”

I laughed. “Thalia is nervous, too. Are you feeling anything?”

“Not a thing. What about you?”

I shook my head. “Same. How about I get Thalia in here? If you two start feeling anything, then I know it wasn’t a fluke with Adrian.”

“Okay,” Aiden shrugged. “But if you see stuff rocking, don’t come knocking.”

I gave him a deadpan look. “This is an experiment, Aiden.”

“My research will be thorough. Scout's honor, Sin.”

“You’re impossible. Just like your brother. Wait here.”

He chuckled, and I opened the door. I smiled at Thalia. “Nothing happened. I want you to go in there, though. I want to see if it affects your mate bond as it did for Adrian and me.”
