His Regret Arrived Three Days Late novel Chapter 101

Staring at Serena’s pitiful, damsel-in-distress act, Annika let out a cold, bitter laugh. "Serena," she said, her voice sharp, "whatever bond we had as cousins is long gone. From now on, don't you dare bring it up. I wouldn't be happy if you died, but I wouldn't be sad either. In other words, whether you live or die has nothing to do with me."

With that, Annika turned to the maid. "Lana, go get my suitcase. We're leaving."

Lana hurried upstairs to fetch the packed luggage.

Serena wheeled her chair forward, blocking Annika's path. Her voice was a desperate plea. "Annika, don't go. If you leave, Conrad will blame me. You're the one he loves. He let me stay here because we..."

Serena trailed off, hesitating before adding, "We truly have reasons we can't explain."

By then, Lana had returned with the suitcase. Annika ignored Serena and headed for the door with Lana in tow, only to be blocked by two imposing figures. "Mrs. Beryl, Mr. Beryl has instructed that you are not to leave for the time being."

"Get out of my way," Annika growled, struggling to contain her fury.

But the burly men stood firm, like two immovable mountains looming over her.

The fire in Annika's heart finally erupted. She pulled out her phone and dialed Conrad. "Conrad, tell them to get out of my way. I'm leaving."

"Where are you going?" The voice on the phone grew louder, closer.

Annika looked up to see Conrad's handsome face as he strode in through the door, phone still in hand. His piercing gaze, burning with an intensity that seemed to flicker like flames, locked onto her.

Seeing him, Serena looked as if she was on the verge of tears. "Conrad," she trembled, "I told you Annika would be upset if I moved in. You have to console her."

Annika stood frozen, listening to Serena's cloying voice. Her hands, hanging by her sides, clenched into tight fists as her body trembled with suppressed rage.
