His Regret Arrived Three Days Late novel Chapter 95

Yazmin grabbed Annika's hand, her voice urgent. "I knew you wouldn't be so heartless. This is your child, too. I've already given that foolish son of mine a piece of my mind. The baby in your belly is the true treasure of the Beryl family. Not only will I refuse to acknowledge Serena, but Zoltan won't either."

Annika had been prepared to chat with Yazmin, but the mention of Serena made her heart grow heavy.

"Yazmin, the baby Serena is carrying is also a Beryl. Even if you don't accept it, you can't erase the blood connection. And what matters most is that Conrad will accept it, even if you don't."

"A manipulative, vile woman like Serena? Who knows whose child she's actually carrying? Only a fool like Conrad would believe a word she says."

The accusation hit a raw nerve. Annika pressed her fingernails into her palm, leaving deep red crescents. "Yazmin, I will have this baby. But when it's born, the child stays with me. You can come visit, of course."

"Absolutely not." Yazmin's tone was final, leaving no room for negotiation. "A Beryl heir cannot be raised outside the family. That is our tradition."

"You just said you wouldn't acknowledge Serena's child," Annika countered. "That baby is also of the Beryl bloodline. You can't play favorites."

The thinly veiled sarcasm in her voice was not lost on Yazmin. Her brow furrowed. "This is not up for discussion. I can indulge you in anything else, Annika, but not this. Serena's character is questionable at best. To be blunt, I don't trust her, and the Beryl family will not welcome a child of dubious origin."

Without another word, Yazmin began packing Annika's belongings, ignoring her protests.

Annika was speechless. She stood there, one hand on her forehead, fuming.

Yazmin authoritatively had all of Annika's luggage loaded into the car she had brought.
