Chapter 196 The Night Palace
Finished
“When did you even have time to do all this?” I asked, my voice a bit shaky.
“Before we even left Silverwhip. You’re my mate, Lira. I want you completely woven into my life. Everywhere I go, I want to find traces of you.”
I turned around to face him. “Kael… I’m not as good as you think I am. I have secrets. I’m not ‘kind, and I’m definitely the type to settle every score.”
I didn’t know how to explain the war coming with the Voss family, or the weight of the Hidmoon Pack on my shoulders. I didn’t know who I’d have to become to win.
Kael pulled me closer, his forehead resting against mine. “My girl doesn’t need to be kind. Do whatever you have to do. I’ll be right there to catch you.”
I stared into his eyes and felt a surge of power. With him behind me, I was ready to burn Brookstone to the ground.
Meanwhile, in a luxury villa elsewhere in the Thunder Pack.
A man was lounging on a sofa, his refined, elegant features radiating a quiet warmth. He was a picture of old-world nobility, flipping through a file with effortless grace.
His manager, Martha Violet, walked out of the kitchen with a glass of milk. “Gustave, you need to rest. Stop reading scripts for five minutes.”
Gustave Brooks tossed the script aside and took the milk. His voice was a bit raspy. “I’m fine, Martha. I just need a distraction. Did you find what I asked for?”
Martha handed him a folder. “The girl’s name is Lira Krom. She was an internet sensation for a minute two years ago, then went totally dark. She was spotted at the Silverwhip airport recently, but since then…. nothing.”

Gustave Brooks stared at the thin file in his hand. Aside from what Martha had mentioned, there was nothing remarkable about the girl on paper.
The photo showed a stunning face, elegant and refined, but it didn’t capture even ten percent of the presence she had in person. The file was too clean; usually, that meant only one thing-her true identity had been scrubbed and buried.
He refused to believe a simple, low-rank Omega could possess such elite medical skills or the nerves of steel required to save his life in a crisis.
Martha watched his silence for a moment. “Should we reach out? We could grant her a wish, or maybe use our connections to make her a superstar in the industry?”
Gustave shook his head, tossing the file onto the coffee table. He looked up at Martha, his eyes thoughtful. “No. With her talent, she’d be a household name already if she wanted to be. She doesn’t care about the spotlight. I have a feeling our paths will cross again.”
He set down his glass and headed upstairs.
Lira Voss’s POV:
Sleeping in the castle with Kael’s familiar scent surrounding me was the best rest I’d had in years.
When I opened my eyes the next morning and saw the warm sunlight spilling across the floor, I felt a surge of genuine peace.
I did a quick refresh, pulled on some comfortable loungewear from the walk-in closet, and stepped out of
the suite.
The staff bowed respectfully as I passed.
I headed down to the dining room, where David greeted me with a polite bow and a fatherly sanile.
“Good morning, Miss Krom.”
I offered him a soft smile, “Good morning, David.” I glanced around the empty room. “Where’s Kael?”
“The King had an emergency council meeting and had to leave early.” David explained. “But he gave strict orders that he’d be back by noon to have lunch with you.”
The news brought a small smile to my face, and I nodded.
Just as I finished breakfast, Gary walked in leading a small group. A middle-aged man in trendy, casual clothes led the way, followed by two assistants carrying heavy metal cases,
“What’s this?” Lasked, looking at Gary.
“This is Andre Bach,” Gary said. “The King sent him to handle your styling for tonight.
Chapter 196 The King’s Muse
“Andre Bach?!”
I’d heard whispers of a legendary stylist named Andre Bach who only worked for the elite of the Northern Alliance. I wasn’t sure if this was the same man.
But the guy looked like he breathed fashion, and he carried the unmistakable scent of a high-rank pureblood. He was the real deal.
Gary saw my hesitation and nodded. “Yes. That Andre Bach.”
I nodded slowly. It made sense; Kael was the Alpha King, so naturally, only the best would be allowed near his inner circle.
Under David’s supervision, Andre got to work.
When Lira finally stepped back into the foyer, every person in the room froze, caught in a moment of purę awe.
She wore a nude-toned gown, the silk scattered with micro-diamonds that shimmered like a captured galaxy with every move she made.
Her dark curls were swept casually over one shoulder, held in place by a single, brilliant crystal clip.
Her makeup was minimal, highlighting her sharp, ethereal features without masking them. She looked like something out of a dream-floating, untouchable, and impossibly beautiful.
Andre stared at her, mesmerized. He’d worked with the most famous models in the Alliance, but he had never seen anyone like this.
It was no wonder Kael Thorne had personally ordered him here. The girl was clearly the King’s entire world.
Gary had never seen Lira in anything but sneakers and hoodies. Seeing her like this, he had to admit that in terms of raw presence and beauty, she was a perfect match for Kael. It was just a shame she was a low- rank Omega.
But if the King had chosen her as his mate, Gary wasn’t about to argue.
