Chapter 200 The Maynard Continent Threat
Lira Voss’s POV:
I turned to see William and Gregory Hicks approaching.
The girls immediately shifted into their “polite society” personas, their voices turning sweet and breathy. “Not at all! We were just getting to know each other. We’re thrilled to have you here, William, Gregory.”
The Hicks brothers were the ultimate bachelors in Brookstone. Between their family name, their looks, and their wolf power, they were at the top of every girl’s list.
Gregory looked at me. “Lira, Grandpa wants to see you in his study.”
I was more than happy to get away from the clique. “Lead the way.”
Gregory led me into Gabriel’s private study. One wall was filled with books from floor to ceiling, while the others were covered in priceless, historic paintings.
Gabriel was standing at a desk, peering at a small landscape oil painting.
He gestured for me to come over. “Lira, take a look at this. Tell me what you think.”
I studied the piece for a moment. “The tones are soft but deep. The brushwork is delicate but carries a lot of tension. It’s a rare masterpiece, definitely worth keeping.”
Gabriel looked at me, stunned, then burst into a laugh./I didn’t expect a girl your age to have an eye for fine art. That’s impressive.”
“My mentor was a devotee,” I said smoothly. “I suppose some of it rubbed off on me.”
“I’d like to meet this mentor of yours. I want to see who managed to raise an Omega as exceptional as you.”
I just gave him a thin, mysterious smile.
Gabriel signaled for Gregory to leave, and the room went quiet.
His expression turned serious, though his voice remained kind. “Lira, the Four Season Group is moving into the Thunder Pack soon, isn’t it?”
I nodded. “The transition is already underway. We wouldn’t have made it this far without your support over the last two years, Elder.”
The new HQ was right on the border of Brookstone and the Thunder Pack. Having Gabriel Hicks in our corner had been a massive shield against the local Alphas.
I knew my father had tried to block the project multiple times. Gabriel had been the one to shut him
down.
Once the move was final, I planned to settle the score with Andrew Voss once and for all..
Gabriel waved it off. “I didn’t do as much as you think. For the past year you permits and files have been

cleared almost instantly. There’s a shadow behind you, Lira, and I think you know who it is.”
I paused. Him?
Only the Alpha King had that kind of influence.
