Chapter 195 The Night Palace
Lira Voss’s POV:
“Our home,” Kael said softly. “This is where we stay whenever we’re in the Thunder Pack.”

“But… Serena is still at the hotel. If I don’t go back, she’ll worry.” Even though I’d lived with Kael before, being in this massive, private place made me feel a bit nervous.
Kael chuckled, leaning in close. “What? Are you worried I’m going to force a mating and mark you tonight?”
The air turned thick and heavy. He was so close I could feel the heat radiating off him. Victoria was pacing inside me, her energy wild and hungry.
I instinctively closed my eyes, waiting for him to close the distance. But instead, he pulled back with a laugh, ruffling my hair. “I’m waiting for you to grow up, Lira. Truly.
“But as long as you’re in this city, I’m not letting you out of my sight. I’ve already sent word to your assistant. She knows you’re safe.”
I stared into his dark, swirling eyes and found myself nodding.
Kael hopped out and opened my door. “Come on. Let me show you our palace.”
The way he said ‘our’ hit me right in the heart.
As we walked in, I saw David, the butler, already waiting in the foyer.
“David! I thought you were back in the Silverwhip Pack?”
David gave me a fond, fatherly smile. “Miss Krom, the King had me fly in the moment you crossed the border. He didn’t want anyone else looking after you.”
I looked at Kael, my eyes stinging.
How many things was he doing for me behind my back?

Kael smirked. “Don’t look at me like that, or I might lose my self-control and mark you anyway. I’m a male wolf with needs, after all.”
I felt my face go bright red.
