Every single outfit Eleanor thought looked good on Lyra was swiftly purchased.
Eventually, they had to call a driver to pick them up.
Otherwise, there was no way they could have carried all those shopping bags home.
When they finally pulled up to the house, Lyra noticed a very familiar car parked near the entrance.
Familiar to her, at least.
It was Godfrey Sterling's car.
Noticing Lyra freeze, Eleanor asked, "Is that the Sterlings?"
Lyra nodded. "Godfrey is here."
Her instincts told her he was here to salvage the business partnership between their families.
"But your father has a gala tonight. He isn't even home."
Lyra paused, glancing at the brightly lit living room windows before marching toward the front door.
As she pushed open the grand doors to the villa, she saw Godfrey sitting on the sofa, with Miles seated directly across from him.
Judging by their expressions, the conversation seemed surprisingly civil.
Lyra lowered her gaze and walked smoothly into the room.
Hearing the approaching footsteps, both Godfrey and Miles turned toward her and stood up simultaneously.
"Lyra, you're back."
The older man looked incredibly warm and approachable, a polite smile fixed on his face.
Lyra returned the smile with a curt, respectful nod.
