But what Aria truly felt deep down, no one knew.
Not even Maxwell fully bought her words.
He remained convinced that in the face of true power and profit, emotions were utterly meaningless.
Just look at the Sterling family after his downfall.
No matter how much wealth he had generated for them over the years, he was still tossed aside like a dirty rag.
That was human nature.
Just then, a knock broke the silence in the lounge.
They both snapped their heads toward the door as the assistant walked in, followed closely by Nathaniel Jude.
Seeing him, Aria and Maxwell immediately stood up.
Nathaniel smiled effortlessly. "There's no need to be so formal. Relax. We're just here to discuss a business venture."
He walked over and took a seat on the single leather armchair across from them.
"I apologize. Things have been incredibly hectic lately. I had originally planned to stay in the country a bit longer, but duty called me back, which meant dragging the two of you all the way out here."
Aria was the first to speak. "You're far too kind. You've already helped us so much; flying out here is nothing."
Nathaniel nodded. "Alright, let's cut to the chase."
Aria opened her mouth to speak, but he smoothly cut her off.
"We covered most of the groundwork last time. We both know where we stand. But there is one final condition I need to make clear before we sign anything."
Maxwell frowned, his guard instantly up. "What condition?"
