I Chose Me Over My Marriage novel Chapter 118

"I certainly hope so."

Eleanor sighed, but seeing Lyra's cheeks stuffed with food through the screen finally brought a smile to her face.

"Well, at least you're listening to me. You don't look like you've lost any weight. Text me if you have any cravings before you fly back. I'll have the chef prep everything for your arrival."

"If you're asking, then I'm definitely craving everything."

As Lyra joked, she caught a glimpse of Harrison walking into the bedroom from the corner of the screen. Miles was trailing right behind him.

Eleanor glanced back, saw the two men, and immediately turned her attention back to the camera.

"Alright, it's getting late, and we need to rest. Let's talk tomorrow when you have time."

Her sudden rush to hang up didn't go unnoticed by Lyra.

There was only one explanation.

They were hiding something from her.

But since they clearly didn't want her to know, they probably had their reasons.

Lyra smiled and nodded. "Okay. Get some rest, both of you. Take care."

With that, she ended the call.

Eleanor looked toward the walk-in closet, hesitated for a moment, and then quietly walked out of the bedroom.

Several days passed.

Lyra was buried in negotiations for the branch office. Eleanor seemed equally busy back home, and their calls became much less frequent.

However, news about Maxwell flowed steadily to her during this time.

Maxwell had finalized his deal with Nathaniel Jude and had officially launched his own talent agency in Metropolis. Unsurprisingly, his very first signed artist was Aria Moon.

Lyra wasn't shocked in the least.

He had exhausted every resource and flown halfway across the world for this exact outcome. If he hadn't gotten what he wanted, he probably would have lost his mind.
