I Chose Me Over My Marriage novel Chapter 138

Just like the Maxwell beneath him.

In his eyes, Maxwell had become nothing more than a pathetic clown.

"Whether I have the right or not is none of your business. But as for you, you'll never have a chance for the rest of your life."

Maxwell sneered bitterly. "Aren't you afraid I'll tell Lyra every single word you're saying right now?"

"I don't care." Miles stared down at him with an authoritative, predatory gaze. "I actually need an opportunity to make Lyra realize we aren't biologically related."

Maxwell froze, looking as if he couldn't believe those words had actually just come out of Miles's mouth.

"You... you're a lunatic!"

"So what? Do you think you're going to get another chance like you did four years ago? Never again."

As Miles spoke, he applied more pressure to his boot.

Maxwell felt like his entire body was being crushed, every breath becoming a grueling effort.

"There are security cameras here! I will ruin your life!"

He practically spat the words out using every ounce of strength he had left. He glared up at Miles like a venomous scorpion hiding in the dark, waiting for the perfect moment to strike and deliver a lethal dose of poison.

"Really? Be my guest."

With that final taunt, Miles lifted his foot, releasing the pressure.

Maxwell scrambled to sit up instantly, but completely drained of strength, he couldn't get up to leave right away.

Miles, however, didn't seem interested in continuing the fight.

"From now on, stay away from her. If I ever catch you harassing her again, I will make sure you never recover."

Dropping that final warning, Miles turned and walked away.

Watching his retreating figure, Maxwell clenched his fists, his eyes burning with a dark, vicious hatred.
