I Chose Me Over My Marriage novel Chapter 157

"Then you figure something out," Eleanor snapped. "Honestly, I've thought about this before. We watched Miles grow up. If Lyra really likes him, and we know exactly what kind of person he is, why wouldn't it work?"

"Because it's impossible!"

Harrison's expression was dead serious.

"In the eyes of the public, they've been siblings for years. I will absolutely not allow this kind of scandal to happen."

He paused for a long time after saying that, before adding a final, resolute condition.

"At the very least, I won't allow it."

Having been married to him for so many years, Eleanor knew perfectly well that she couldn't change his mind.

She had already done her utmost regarding the situation.

"Then you handle it yourself. I wash my hands of this."

With that, Eleanor turned and went back inside the villa.

Watching her walk away, Harrison lowered his eyes, his expression heavy with gravity.

Once back inside, Eleanor headed straight to her bedroom to rest.

Harrison, however, marched directly to Miles's door and knocked.

When Miles opened the door and saw Harrison, he didn't look surprised in the slightest.

"May I come in?"

Though phrased as a question, Harrison's tone was an absolute command, leaving no room for refusal.

Naturally, Miles had no intention of turning him away.

He stepped aside to let Harrison in, then closed the door behind him.

Harrison paced around the room for a moment before taking a seat on the sofa.
