Seeing how confident Lyra looked, Chloe leaned in and whispered curiously, "What exactly is your master plan?"
Even Director Grant couldn't control Aria. Given that Lyra was practically Aria's mortal enemy, what could she possibly do?
Lyra offered a cryptic smirk. "You'll see soon enough."
The Unit B set wasn't too far from the hotel. While they waited, the lead actor and actress politely excused themselves, needing to rest for their early call times the next morning.
Lyra and Silas passed the time casually discussing upcoming films.
As for Chloe and Howard, their countless past collaborations meant they were completely at ease, effortlessly keeping the conversation flowing.
Knock, knock, knock—
The rapping on the door instantly killed the chatter in the room.
Lyra and Chloe exchanged a glance before turning their attention to the entrance.
"Come in."
The door swung open, and Aria walked in, a brilliant smile plastered on her face. However, the moment her eyes landed on Lyra and Chloe, the smile froze and completely shattered.
Her reaction was exactly what Lyra had anticipated.
But a second later, Lyra spotted Maxwell Sterling stepping in right behind Aria.
When their eyes locked, Lyra's gaze turned cold with utter disgust.
He had actually tagged along.
She hadn't accounted for that.
But then again, of course Maxwell would show up. He was desperate for any opportunity to rub shoulders with powerful industry figures.
Clearly, everyone in the room was surprised by the uninvited guest.
Maxwell, however, acted completely unfazed. He confidently strode in, stepping ahead of Aria to give a slight, polite bow. "Apologies for the intrusion, Director Chambers, Director Grant. I just came by to check on the wellbeing of my company's talent."
It was a perfectly crafted corporate excuse.
But while he spoke, his eyes kept intentionally drifting toward Lyra.
