In the past, with Maxwell standing between them, Lyra and Silas had only interacted strictly within professional boundaries.
Now, Maxwell was no longer an obstacle.
When Silas looked at Lyra, his eyes were filled with genuine admiration.
He had never bothered to hide it since the day they first met.
After the initial rounds of greetings, everyone took their seats.
Naturally, Director Grant and Director Chambers took the seats of honor.
Chloe was already well-acquainted with them, seamlessly sliding into the conversation.
Right in the middle of a lively discussion, Howard's phone buzzed.
"Excuse me for a moment, I need to take this."
He stood up and stepped out of the private room.
Taking advantage of the lull, Silas turned to Lyra with a smile. "VP Lennox, I really have to thank you for what happened last time. If it hadn't been for you, I wouldn't have walked away with such a massive advantage."
Lyra smiled and waved it off politely. "You're far too kind. It was merely a small favor."
She paused for a beat before continuing.
"Besides, it was a mutually beneficial arrangement. You gave me an incredible opportunity to prove myself."
It was a move that allowed her to demonstrate her value and secure a potential collaboration with him.
"By the way, I forgot to ask—do you have any interest in taking on a role in an upcoming project?"
Lyra blinked, taken aback, then shook her head. "I don't have any talent for acting. I'd just end up getting dragged online."
She meant it as a joke, of course.
She had definitely been interested in the entertainment side of things before, but now, she was drowning in her actual corporate duties. Acting wasn't even on her radar.
