I Chose Me Over My Marriage novel Chapter 182

But since Miles wasn't around, there wasn't much else for Lyra to say.

"Alright. Thank you, CeCe. Please tell him to call me back as soon as he gets in."

She paused for a second before adding, "If he's too busy, just tell him to shoot me a text."

"Got it. I'll pass the message along the moment he walks through the door."

"Perfect. I'll let you go then."

With that, Lyra ended the call.

On the other side of the line, Cecilia lowered the phone. She looked up at the man standing near the door, a visible tremor shaking her frame.

"You did brilliantly. Don't worry, I won't hurt him. In fact, I'm quite impressed with you. If the stars align, I'd be absolutely thrilled to have you as my daughter-in-law."

Looking at this deceptively youthful man with a head full of silver hair, Cecilia couldn't muster a single ounce of goodwill.

She turned her terrified gaze back to the bed where Miles lay completely unconscious, her anxiety practically spilling over.

"Is he really going to be okay?"

"Of course. I would never allow any harm to come to him."

The man casually strolled over to the velvet armchair and sat down, crossing one leg over the other. He observed Cecilia with an amused, calculating gaze.

"I expect you to keep everything you saw today strictly confidential. Pretend you never met me. And as for Lyra, it would be in your best interest to limit your interactions with her."

Cecilia's hands, resting on her knees, slowly balled into tight fists, though she fought to keep her face perfectly blank.

"Are you really his biological father?"

She was essentially playing dumb.

Because looking at the man's facial structure, it was painfully obvious—he and Miles were the spitting image of one another.
