I Chose Me Over My Marriage novel Chapter 221

"I know."

Xenia smiled and took a step toward Miles, reaching out to touch him, but he dodged her hand.

Her outstretched hand hung frozen in the air before she finally pulled it back.

She shook her hand slightly and chuckled. "But what if I said my interest in you isn't romantic either?"

"You need to solve your family's problems, and so do I. Couldn't we just work together?"

Miles stared at her, seemingly weighing the truth of her words.

Noticing his suspicion, Xenia shrugged.

"Relax, I was just kidding when I said I was interested in you."

Despite that, Miles's voice was ice-cold. "No, thank you."

Without another word, he strode directly toward Lyra.

Xenia sighed, watching his retreating figure.

Her gaze then shifted past him and landed squarely on Lyra, a brief spark lighting up her eyes.

As for Lyra, she looked up at Miles standing in front of her.

Perhaps she had had a little too much to drink, because her vision was slightly blurred.

"What do you want?"

Lyra let out a soft laugh as she spoke.

Frowning at her demeanor, Miles sat down next to her.

"Why haven't you answered my calls?"

For the past two days, he had called her every spare moment he got.

Without exception, none of them had connected.

Now, looking at her, it didn't seem like she was intentionally avoiding him.

"I've been busy."
