Chapter 101
Zack watched helplessly as the door of hope slammed shut right in front of him leaving him crying at reality,
“Marcus, let me explain. Those people actually came to help you.”
Marcus raised a brow, his expression clearly saying let’s see how you spin this one.
“Marcus, you wanted to chase after Sophie…”
Before he could finish, Zack felt a chill run down his spine. He immediately shit his mouth and rephrased.
“I used the wrong word. Not chase–what I meant was, you wanted to get Sophie’s attention…”
Marcus’s face darkened completely. “Get rid of them.”
He turned to leave, his eyes so cold they were nearly black.
Zack stood frozen, on the verge of tears. It was all because he’d had too much to drink last night and bragged that he could get them in to meet Marcus.
Well, they’d met him all right–and Zack had probably just killed half his credibility with Marcus in the process!
No, he couldn’t let it end like this. He had to make

She quickly filled Ethan Chandler in

what had happened at the resort. Ethan couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Now I suddenly understand why Marcus has
held the top spot in Riverland.”
Sophie arched a brow, her tone teasing.” “You mean his rivals are just too stupid?”
“Exactly.” Ethan went on, “Even Z
figured out something so simple, but those guys still believed it and tagged along like fools.”
“My guess is Marcus will have them all kicked out within half a day.”
No sooner had Ethan finished speaking than Sophie was dragged into a group chat.
The notification showed Zack had added her. One glance told her it was filled with the same wealthy kids who’d shown up that morning
Sophie didn’t rush to leave the chat. Instead, she told Ethan,
“Looks like they’re not leaving so easily. Zack just pulled us into a group chat. Seems like he’s planning something.”
Ethan sounded surprised. “From what I know, doctors are usually calm and steady. Didn’t expect Zack to be this much of a party animal.”
“If you don’t want to bother with them, just have Ryan Mason take you home early. Once the place is crowded, the resort won’t be much fun anyway. You can always go back after they leave.”
Where there were crowds, there was trouble–and Ethan didn’t feel easy about it.
“I’ll be fine, Ethan. I’ll stay a couple more days. Don’t worry about me. It’s not like they’ll eat me alive.”
Hearing that, Ethan didn’t press her further. Instead, he asked carefully,
“Sophie, how’s it been these days with Ryan Mason? Are you happy?”
Sophie didn’t think too much about it. “Yeah, he’s been great. He takes care ofe like an older brother.”

Then after you broke off the engagement with Liam… did you ever think about maybe continuing with Ryan-”
Before Sophie could catch the rest of Ethan’s question, messages from Liam and Lena popped up in the group chat.
She quickly cut in, “Ethan, I’ve got something to take care of. Talk later.”
Sophie hung up and scrolled up through the group chat to see what was happening.
After pulling everyone in, Zack had posted an announcement. He was planning to throw a small house party at the resort that night and invited everyone to join.
The rich heirs instantly asked if Marcus would be attending.
Zack’s reply: Pending.
At that, the group instantly deflated.
They were only there on orders from their families, hoping to pry out Marcus true reason for coming to the resort. If he wasn’t going, there was no point in attending.
For a whole five minutes, no one said a word.
Then Liam suddenly chimed in: I happen to be here too. Count me in for the party tonight.
Right after Liam, Lena followed up: If my brother’s going, I’ll go too.
Sophie’s fingers tightened slightly around her phone, a sly glint flashing in her eyes. She quickly typed a line and sent it.
Count me in.
No sooner had she posted than Zack followed with, Marcus will definitely be there tonight!
In an instant, the group chat exploded with excitement, everyone tripping over themselves to sign up for the party.
In front of his phone, Zack wiped the sweat from his forehead and finally breathed out. Thank God Sophie agreed to come–otherwise, the whole thing would’ve died right there.
Like presenting a treasure, Zack handed his phone to Marcus.
“Marcus, I’m hosting a party tonight. Miss Chandler will be there. Will you come?”
Marcus gave the screen a quick glance. There were already ninety–nine plus messages, but Zack had conveniently left it paused on
His voice was low and cold. “We’ll see.”
By seven in the evening, a party hall had sprung up out of nowhere.
Tourists passing by couldn’t help but stop and stare.
“I swear this was just an empty lot this morning. How’d a whole building go up in half a day?”
ae S.
“Word is someone important from Riverland showed up. To please him, they’re throwing a party. These people spend money like water–if they want a building, it’s built in minutes.”
“Crazy rich. We can’t compare.”
