Through Silent Meadows We Trace Stories Left Behind Yesterday by As
Chapter 256
The online trolls were still active, but suddenly, overnight, they all disappeared without a trace.
Sophie leaned in and glanced at Sherry beside her. “Sherry, you really haven’t dealt with those trolls?”
Sherry didn’t even look away from her computer screen, her fingers flying over the keyboard.
“I don’t have the time for that. I have to check the algorithm thirty times a day, making sure there’s no bug in every line. Maybe a kind–hearted person couldn’t stand it and took care of them for us.”
Looking at Sherry’s indifferent attitude, Sophie believed her.
After all, Sherry had never been one to hide things.
As for who did it, Sophie didn’t have the time to think about it. The diamond cutter called yesterday; it seemed there was a problem with the machine. The exhibition was tomorrow, and if they couldn’t finish on time, Sophie couldn’t help but feel anxious.
Ding ding ding-
A series of phone rings went off, and Sophie quickly picked up the phone.
“Ms. Chandler, it’s done. The samples are ready to be sent to Miss Shaw’s studio. Please check them,” the cutter said, letting out a long sigh.
Sophie let out a sigh of relief as well. She raised an eyebrow, a smile tugging at her lips. “Thanks for the hard work. The overtime pay will be included with this month’s salary.”
Not long after, the jewelry arrived.
The combined efforts of both women were now before them-
Sherry placed the necklace around Sophie’s neck, and in an instant, it gleamed brightly.
As Sophie’s heart rate changed, the gemstones emitted a subtle, shifting light.
Suddenly, Sherry stood up and turned off all the lights in the room.
The light still shone in the night, but gradually, it lost its color.
As the lights slowly came back on, the necklace on Sophie’s pale neck began to glow again, changing colors with the light.
Sherry looked at her creation with satisfaction, crossing her arms and adjusting her glasses. “Not bad.”
Sophie raised an eyebrow. “You’re so modest when praising yourself?”
They exchanged a smile, saying in unison, “Genius!”
Tomorrow’s exhibition was bound to be a grand success.
The next morning, Hills Group’s official account began streaming live, drawing countless viewers to the exhibition.
People came from all over, some out of curiosity.
“I heard it’s another piece by Liora! She’s been so productive lately! I love it!”
“But what’s the deal with combining jewelry and tech? It doesn’t seem like they go together. This better not be all hype with no substance.”

“Don’t start with the negativity. You haven’t seen it yet. I trust Liora’s eye, it’s definitely not going to disappoint!”
Soon, the live stream was flooded with millions of viewers.
As the lights at the venue gradually dimmed, the audience held their breath.
When the lights came back on, they changed with the rhythm of the music, and in the darkness, a spark of light gradually grew larger. The
crowd held their breath.
Suddenly, the music swelled, and a model walked from the darkness, her sharp features illuminated by the shifting lights, making her appear like an angel from heaven.
“Pfft, thought it was something amazing. It’s just some cool lighting. I can do that too.”
“This is trash. I’m not watching!”
A wave of trolls flooded the live chat, attacking both the work and Liora.
Soon after, the music stopped.
Then, a dance performance began.
All the dancers wore the jewelry, and the gemstones shifted in color and brightness with the emotions of the lead female dancer, earning applause from the audience.
The public opinion quickly turned around, and viewers, eager to find the trolls, discovered that their accounts had been permanently banned.
“Serves them right, they were talking trash!”
The audience cheered.
Meanwhile, hiding behind a computer screen, Nina clenched her fists, her nails digging into her flesh, but she didn’t feel any pain.
Watching the growing number of viewers, the overwhelming positive feedback, and the rising trending search terms, she was completely panicked.
“No, this can’t be! This isn’t possible! There’s no way! It must be because I didn’t pay enough…” she muttered, dialing another number.
The voice on the other end was impatient. “Are you done? You’ve ruined me! So many accounts permanently banned! Don’t call me again. I don’t have time for this!”
Nina immediately panicked. “I’ll pay more!”
“I’m not doing it! Earning money from you is like eating shit!” The man spat, then hung up.
Was she really going to let Sherry succeed like this?
Nina’s hatred burned in her eyes as she gritted her teeth, wanting to crush them.
Not long after, an account started spreading more negative rumors.
Meanwhile, Marcus, who was at the venue, frowned, gesturing for his secretary to come closer. “Find out who’s behind these bad reviews.”
The secretary worked quickly. Within three minutes, he found the source and handed Marcus a tablet. “Mr. Morgan, it’s Nina.”
Marcus only glanced at it, then waved his hand dismissively.

The secretary quickly understood, making a few quick gestures on his phone. Sophie’s account was soon silenced.
Sophie hurriedly refreshed the page, only to find a message saying her account had been permanently banned.
Nina wasn’t giving up, though, and continued to register new accounts.
However, her registration speed couldn’t match the secretary’s speed in banning her accounts. After a few attempts, her computer crashed, and the dark screen reflected her furious face.
She screamed in frustration, “Sophie! Sherry, you better watch out!”
As the exhibition ended and the lights came back on, Sophie and Sherry stood in the center of the stage, arm in arm, slowly walking forward.
At that moment, the lights focused on their faces, and Sherry proudly lifted her head.
“Everyone, I’d like to proudly introduce to you, the daughter of the Shaw family, Sherry!” Sophie’s voice rang out strong and clear.
The audience was immediately in an uproar-
“Sherry? Isn’t there only one daughter of the Shaw family? She doesn’t look like her.”
“Yeah, the other one looks foolish, but this one’s clever. I bet this one’s the real deal!”
Sherry calmly took the microphone, her gaze fixed on the camera. She smiled proudly, raising an eyebrow. “I know you’re watching, Nina. Everything you’ve stolen from me, I’ll take back one by one. Are you ready?”
“And to the rest of the Shaw family, it’s time for the hunters to change positions!”
With those words, the heat surged.
Viewers quickly flooded the chat-
“Oh my god, this is a real queen!”
“No, this is the real deal! Look at the aura, if it’s fake, I’ll eat shit!”
“Yeah, yeah, I’m starting to seriously suspect that the trolls earlier were the fake daughter!”
“Oh my god, I’m actually seeing the real and fake daughters. This is amazing, I want to watch more!”
